I know it is fashionable to disparage the League cup, but I have watched
some of the games the last two years and they have been pretty exciting
and enjoyable. Also get to see more of the less well known players on
the books of the big guns. With Spurs, Arsenal, Man City, Villa and Man >United already out this year, there is an opportunity there for someone.
Both Newcastle and Liverpool have played pretty strong lineups, and
brought on some of their top guys as subs as well. Particularly
impressed by Endo and Quansah yesterday vs. Bournemouth, and Joe Gomez,
while certainly not a natural at right back, sure did get forward a lot.
As for Salah, he was really fired up and into it, and did not look
like a player who wants to be in Saudi Arabia at all.
