Former Swedish NT manager died today.
While I respect him as a person, I was very disappointed at him as the NT manager.
He stubbornly sticked to the old 4-3-3 from the Georg "Åby" Ericsson era
(WC 74, 78) and his former club Östers IF, despite that the strongest club
team Malmö FF played 4-4-2 at the end of the 70s, as well as the strongest club team IFK Göteborg from the beginning of the 80s.
This probably lead to Sweden missing both WCs -82 och -86. He never managed
to completely gel together the players from these two separate schools (old 4-3-3 and novel 4-4-2 with pressing).
