Didn't the England keeper leave the line MUCH too early on the pen?

    1-0 FT

    Congratulations Spain.

England lucky to not have to face Spain in the semis.

What we can conclude from the last 4.

    - Spain best.
    - Australia worst
    Sweden vs England - undecided.

Therefore I DEMAND a silver game on Wednesday!

    Congratulations Spain.

Indeed. Spain the better team in the final, though England did have their chances.
Spain also easily the best team in the tournament, despite their blackout against Japan, and it wasn't particularly close.
They have a young team, a distinct playing style that everybody buys at the youth level, plus surely this win will spur a lot of enthusiasm among the younger generations. They will be tough to unseat.

    Sweden would probably win.

Talk about an easy run to the final for England! They had to face the mighty Haiti, Denmark, China, Nigeria, Colombia and Australia.

Goal of the tournament: either Linda Caicedo's goal for Colombia (their 1st goal) against Germany, or Esmee Brugts's goal for Netherlands (their 6th goal) against Vietnam.

Best match: France v Panama; or possibly Germany v Colombia.

Howcome Linda Caicedo didn't get the best young player award?

Roll on the olympics now. 4 of my favourite teams have qualified for that so far. The new Women's nations league is being used as the European qualifiers for that, and Sweden, Spain, Italy and Switzerland are all in the same group! Talking of which, why
are there still only 12 teams in the Olympics? Especially when there's 16 in the less important men's tournament!
