Why do you like running tracks so much? As a spectator, I don't like
them. They place you far too far from the action.

I thought fans did not like running tracks, they are too far away from the action.

Both teams seem to be playing full timers, I thought Man City would play a B team, then again, they have enough players for 3 A teams.

Granted, but for finals a running track gives the right sense of occasion for the global tv audience. There are many more watching at home than in the stadium and we deserve a running track!

UEFA had it right when they hosted this thing at the Stade Louis II in Monaco. An infinitely more suitable venue, look up a photo if you want t know why.

Anyway, Sevilla 1-0 up after 25, Acuna hit a high cross from the left and El-Nesyri headed home.

He did quite well to score what with two defenders draped over him. Someone should sign up soon.

Man City ended the half strongly, coming close to scoring a couple of times, but Sevilla doing what Sevilla does and are on track to keep their perfect cup final record*.

    * I dont really know if they have ever lost a cup final.

They lost the Super Cup final in 2007, then three times in a row 2014-2016, then in 2020, but let’s gloss over that - still a team I wouldn’t feel comfortable betting against in any final due to their Europa League record.

    FT: 1-1

Match went straight to a penalty shootout , which Man City won 5-4.

Including today’s result, over the last 10 years the Europa League winners have only won this cup once (Atlético de Madrid over Real Madrid in 2018).

63 minutes, direct ball into the box finds Palmer who heads in at the far post to equalise 1-1.

Including today’s result, over the last 10 years the Europa League winners have only won this cup once (Atlético de Madrid over Real Madrid in 2018).

Sure, but of the last 10, 6 went to extra time (would have been 7 with
todays had ET been allowed), and 3 went to penalties.

Compare to the club world cup final, where the last 10 have been won by
the UEFA CL winner, requiring extra time only 3 times, and never penalties.

One could be excused for postulating that the Super Cup is harder to win
than the CWC. Now I don't think anybody claims the Super Cup is a major
title any more than the COmmunities shield is.

So there is a pretty reasonable argument that the CWC should not be
taken all that seriously any more, if it ever was (and opinions on the
    latter seem to group geographically).

The matches might be close but if the Champions League teams are winning 9 out of 10 times that says something.
