I have not been paying all that much attention, but there appear to have
been even more incomprehensible transfers this window than ever.
Why do Arsenal need Ramsdale AND Raya ? (which will force me to make
FPL roster change to my Also Rans team of all non-CL players)

Why do Chelsea need all of Enzo, Lavia and Caicedo ? That seems overkill
to me, especially at the prices being forked over.

Why are all these high profile players, who in the past had minor
tantrums about the absolute necessity of playing in the so-called
Champions' leage suddenly picking up and going to Saudi Arabia, or if
they can't get in there, Turkey. (I am sure money is the answer, of
course, which makes all the previous protestations pretty hypocritical).

But on top of all that, there are some players who I would have thought
could really help some teams that are not moving at all. Take Wilfrid
Ndidi, for instance. Only 26, and though he had a weak year last year,
worth a look at. Speaking of Leicester, Castagne and Pereira would also
help a lot of mid-table to relegation threatened teams.

Also surprised that players like Dani Olmo and Nico Williams have not
    yet found a bigger club.

This one surprised me too. It seems almost as bizarre as the signing of Kai "what the hell does he really do" Havertz.

You forgot Olise, who is also close to signing. Ted Lasso Boehly's spending at Chelsea is approaching the 1 billion mark.

You answered your own rhetorical question. But was the question really rhetorical in that case?

Good shout on Ndidi. He was all the rage a few seasons ago.

Spare poor Leipzig, they have already been plundered by the WWWEPL$ for Nkunku, Gvardiol, and Szoboszlai this summer.

Probably not. But I find the whole scenario amusing as well as
    distasteful.

Poor Leipzig might be an exaggeration. They do have resources. But it
seems that they do lose all their promising players fairly quickly (as
do RB Salzburg). Werner, Keita, Upamecano, Konate, Sabitzer, Laimer,
    ....the list goes on.
