    At the end of 90 (+12) minutes: 1-1

    Spain completely dominated for about 60 minutes but couldn't convert their superiority into goals. When it looked as if they had tired a bit, van der Gragt gifted them a penalty. Mariona converted, 1-0 with about 12 minutes to go. Now Spain had to defend,
    and they didn't look too comfortable doing it. van der Grag, deployed as center-forward (an old Football Manager trick of mine), beat the offside trap, and made it 1-1 with an excellent finish.

    Now 5 minutes into ET, and NED look more likely to score

    It never fails, especially when it's genuine. Bu NED did come *very* close to scoring twice with Beerensteyn before Paralluelo's winning strike. Beerensteyn had gloated publicly about the USWNT's elimination, and now she's getting some payback.
