It's not just the title race that is close this season. Things are close at the bottom of the table. With three rounds of matches to go 7 teams could potentially still be relegated and none of those teams' fate is yet sealed.

    14th Bournemouth 39pts -30 GD
    15th West Ham 37 pts -12 GD
    16th Nottingham Forest 33pts -31 GD
    17th Everton 32pts -21 GD -------------------------------------------------------------
    18th Leicester City 30pts -15 GD
    19th Leeds United 30pts -25 GD
    20th Southampton 24pts -33GD

The botttom three are relegated. If teams are level on points goal difference is the tie breaker.

So as an example of how close things are, if 16th placed Nottingham Forest lose, Everton draw and one of Leeds or Leicester win then Nottingham Forest would slide back down into the relegation places.

    Remaining fixtures:

Bournemouth: Crystal Palace (A), Manchester United (H), Everton (A)

West Ham: Brentford (A), Leeds United (H), Leicester City (A)

Nottingham Forest: Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H), Crystal Palace (A)

Everton: Manchester City (H), Wolves (A), Bournemouth (H)

Leicester City: Liverpool (H), Newcastle (A), West Ham (H)

Leeds United: Newcastle (H), West Ham (A), Tottenham (H)

    Southampton: Fulham (H), Brighton (A), Liverpool (H)

It feels like Nottingham Forest and Leicester City are tied for the most challenging final three matches. Having said that in Forest's case neither Chelsea or Crystal Palace have anything but pride left to play for, so whether that has a bearing on
    things remains to be seen.

Well what do I know? Forest drew 2-2 away to Chelsea and beat Arsenal 1-0 at home today and are now safe from relegation.

The downside is that in doing so we handed the Premier League title to Manchester City, ugh :(

    Relegation position as it stands:

    17th Everton 33pts GD -24 *
    18th Leeds 31 pts GD -25
    19th Leicester 30pts GD -18
    ------------------------------------------------
    20th Southampton - relegated

    * Everton have played one more game than Leeds and Leicester. When Leeds and Leicester play this week's game there is only one round of matches left.
