I could not think of a better title for a new topic, but our discussion was not really following the subject of that other thread.

So here it is: Another short but successful run today.

So the plan is to first get back to consistency, then properly build
the endurance and speed back up. Three weeks so far with at least
three runs per week, just like a newbie runner should.

Even though I've run somewhat for 25 years, the last 15 has been
    more like a weekend warrior.

Oh and the other running related tidbit, picked up new shoes today:
    Brooks Glycerin 15.

the technology keeps changing, so I just trust the shoe store to
give me some good choices. I have to admit, the selection was
very close. I could only feel slight differences between the
three models I tried on. And the Brooks was the wrong by a
half size. That's why I got them today, and not Saturday.

The fabrics they use in the uppers nowadays is amazing.
I'm going for a very short run tomorrow, so we will see how
they really feel on the run.

    Enjoy,
    ed

A good couple of days for me. Club 5K time trial on Tuesday where I knocked another 24 seconds off my time bringing it down to 20:37.

Today, a good 15ish Miles over a local hill (three times). https://www.strava.com/activities/1037610508/shareable_images/map_based?hl=en-US&v=1497525863

Tapering now for by big race a week on Saturday.

Hope the new shoes work out for you Ed.

Your results put serious doubts on my plans to outlive all the faster runners!

The new shoes feel great! I am still am slow, but my feet enjoy the run. I did a 5k run today, but I really suffer in the heat!
But I am back on track to make running a regular part of my life.

Let's put some life back into this group.
