Hope it goes well (and isn't too hot!).

today's run was hot, but we ran on the bridal trail in the park
so the shade felt cooler. Motivation is getting better. Next 5K
will be July 4th weekend. The 5K course is fairly flat for Medina.

Tomorrow I pick up new shoes. We'll see how much that helps.
These old Nike shoes are nearly bald. New ones are Brooks.
I tried on 12.5 but I really need a size 13. They had the right
    size in another store.

My, what big feet you have! ;-). New shoes are always good.

Just looking at Medina on the map and see that you have a parkrun in
Mansfield. Are you anywhere near that? I've found the weekly parkruns
really good for motivation and speed.

I live in Twinsburg, so Mansfield is a drive.

What I really miss is a former neighbor of mine, Don Robins. He was always ready for a run. It made it a lot earlier to get up early because I knew he would be waiting!

But recently somehow my motivation seems better. I'm trying to keep the extra work hours to a minimum and that helps.

Are you near Mansfield? maybe we could plan a race together.

    Enjoy,

Not unless your Mansfield is in Scotland. Alas, I suspect our paths are
doomed not to cross (unless you fancy a holiday over here, OR, send me lots
    of money). ;-)

So wrong Mansfield, meaning, definitely too long of a drive!!!!!

I hope to travel "across the pond", but I'm more likely to stop
In Ireland (on my Mother's side). But If I do, I will try to hope
over to Scotland, if for no other reason than to get a good drink
    and honor my wife's Uncle.

I actually had to go across the Atlantic three years ago when our
business trip to China got rerouted via Paris. No, just got to
see DeGaulle airport for two hours. 8^(

I've shed 20lbs of weight over the last six
    months to aid that goal.

Wow! Huge congrats. I have 4 races signed up for (not that means anything!), a 9mi hillclimb, 50miler & 2 100's in the next few months.
Whether I can finish all of those at 56, we'll see :)

Never actually done a full "100" miler yet. 95 miles 5 times now but not
    100. ;-)

I wouldn't fancy doing too many of them in a year though. I was very
focused on doing just one "big" race this year. I find having too many
goals means that I end up "just getting by" rather than training properly
    for each event.
