So many law enforcement agencies have gone encrypted.

Most fire depts. are still in the clear, and, at least here in SoCal,
mutual aid is pretty much always in the clear as well.

I'm in Malaysia close to Singapore border. I don't know if comms are
encrypted, but I would enjoy listening to ATC, many are not covered by liveatc.com or perhaps marine traffic around the straits.

I don't have much time right now to get into another new hobby. Just
doing a bit of research what sort of setup I'd need to scan frequencies,
use CB radio etc.
