The Federal Communications Commission is out with its proposed regulatory
fee rates for Fiscal Year 2022. NAB President and CEO Curtis LeGeyt is
critical of the proposal for a 13% fee increase from last fiscal year.

Latino Media Network Launches With Big Radio Deal

Describing itself as “ a media company focused on content creation, talent incubation, and distribution across multiple platforms,” Latino Media
Network debuts with a big announcement: LMN will acquire 18 radio stations
in 10 markets from TelevisaUnivision in a $60 million all cash deal. LMN
says in announcing the agreement: “This deal is one of the largest single acquisitions of stations by a Latino owned and operated company in
history.” The 18 stations include AMs and FMs in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, San Antonio, McAllen, Fresno, and Las
Vegas that combined reach 33% of American Latinos.

Amaturo Sonoma Media Group and Redwood Empire Stereocasters have jointly announced that Amaturo is purchasing two RES stations, KZST-FM and KWVF-FM. The sale price was not announced. The transaction is expected to close in the 3rd quarter of this year. An LMA to operate the stations went
into effect yesterday.

St. Louis Public Radio Turns 50

Fifty years ago, KWMU debuted in St. Louis. Broadcasting from Lucas Hall on
the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus, KWMU (now St. Louis Public
Radio) introduced public radio to St. Louis. On August 4th, an exhibit will open about the station and a party will be held. Check out a timeline of

Clarity Communications owned Country station WLXO announced the passing of long-time Lexington host Karl Shannon at the age of 68. Shannon held the distinction of being the only person in Lexington to be rated number one in morning drive on two different stations; WVLK-FM and WBUL-FM. The station
