Jeremiah Widmer Joins 96.5 Kiss-FM Cleveland As Afternoon Host

    Posted: 20 May 2022 11:00 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/225350/where-in-cleveland-is-jeremiah-widmer/

Following his departure from mornings at Audacy Hot AC Q104 104.1 WQAL last November, Jeremiah Widmer is returning to Cleveland radio on Monday, May 23
as host of “The Jeremiah Show” on iHeartMedia CHR 96.5 Kiss-FM WAKS Akron from 2-6pm.

Widmer, who hosted mornings at WQAL Cleveland from November 2016 until last November, has been counting down to his return in recent weeks. After
spending time in Los Angeles working in television production, Widmer
joined CHR Q92 WDJQ Canton as morning co-host in 2012. He would move to Cleveland as afternoon host at AC Star 102.1 WDOK in July 2013 before
moving down the hall to WQAL in 2016.

Widmer fills the afternoon slot that has most recently been held remotely
by Q92 WDJQ Canton as morning co-host in 2012. He would move to Cleveland
as afternoon host at AC Star 102.1 WDOK in July 2013 before moving down the hall to WQAL in 2016.>Kiss 108 WXKS-FM Boston afternoon host Mikey V.

iHeartMedia’s 96.5 KISS FM, Cleveland’s #1 Hit Music Station, announced today the debut of “The Jeremiah Show,” launching on Monday, May 23rd. “The
Jeremiah Show” will broadcast weekdays from 2 – 6 p.m.

Jeremiah’s fast-paced, music-intensive, lifestyle-driven, local afternoon drive show will originate from iHeartMedia’s Cleveland studios.

“We’re thrilled to launch ‘The Jeremiah Show’ on KISS FM,” said Keith Kennedy, Regional Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Cleveland. “Jeremiah is a known Cleveland entity and it’s incredible to have a home-grown talent live in our studios promoting all things
    Cleveland.”

“It’s such a cool moment to get to be on the station I listened to growing up,” said Jeremiah. “I’m very excited to be on such a legendary station here in Cleveland. Being on the same station as Elvis Duran is an honor.
His support and guidance of our launch has been inspiring.”

Jeremiah Widmer was born and raised in Rittman, Ohio, and graduated from
The University of Akron. His voice has been heard on the Northeast Ohio airwaves since 2012, including hosting a successful morning show in
Cleveland for the last five years. Widmer’s credits include an internship
for “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” in Los Angeles, a Page for NBC programs that included “The Tonight Show,” “Ellen,” and USA Networks “Burn
Notice.” Jeremiah also worked on two seasons of FOXs “Hells Kitchen” and performed various sketch and improv comedy shows. Jeremiah and his wife
Jessy currently reside in Wadsworth with their three children (Elijah,
Carly Isaiah) and their rescue black lab named Brisket. He is the
President of The Dale Joanne Widmer Foundation, a lacrosse coach, and a
board member for the Mid-Atlantic Connection for PKU Allied Disorders,
which affects his oldest son, Elijah.

Original Report 5/9: Longtime Cleveland personality Jeremiah Widmer is
teasing his near-imminent return to the market.

Widmer, who hosted mornings at Audacy Hot AC Q104 104.1 WQAL Cleveland from November 2016 until November 2021, has been counting down his return since
his departure from WQAL. Last week Widmer posted the teaser below which
seems to hint at a May 23 debut on iHeartMedia CHR 96.5 Kiss-FM WAKS. The
only question is whether Widmer would replace the syndicated Elvis Duran in mornings or go to another daypart. WAKS is one of Durans oldest affiliates, being the fourth station to pick up the show in August 2008.

After spending time in Los Angeles working in television production, Widmer joined CHR Q92 WDJQ Canton as morning co-host in 2012. He would move to Cleveland as afternoon host at AC Star 102.1 WDOK in July 2013 before
moving down the hall to WQAL in 2016.

stations KSBJ, and WAY Media have announced the official close of their
merger into a single media organization, headquartered in Houston. This
merger combines the rich heritage of two like-minded organizations, who together engage an audience of more than 4 million individuals worldwide
with positive multimedia content over radio and online mediums.

The merger received a unanimous vote in January from each organization’s board of directors. Now operating as Hope Media Group, KSBJ and the WayFM network will continue to serve their respective audiences under the
existing brand names. It was a merger of equals and a cash-free transaction.

“We’re thrilled to officially join forces with Way Media to expand our combined impact,” said Joe Paulo, President/CEO of the merged entity. “This merger is much more than a business matter. Aligning our efforts is a
positive shift within Christian media to create and share uplifting content that encourages and inspires audiences across the country. We could not be
more excited for this next chapter as our media brands continue to be a
    beacon of Hope for all.”

WAY Media’s former interim CEO Tim Dukes serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Hope Media Group. “Our vision is to integrate the best of both ministries to enhance our impact for the cause of Christ,” said Dukes. “As we advance God’s kingdom together as Hope Media Group, we look forward to continuing to serve our existing audiences with excellence.”

“The newly merged entity combines leadership from both organizations
creating an ideal team eager for the challenge to impact a much broader
group of listeners,” concluded Paulo. Key priorities include programming, development, media operations and innovation. The senior leadership team
    will consist of:

    Joe Paulo, President & CEO
    Tim Dukes, Chief Operating Officer
    Desiree Gonzalez, Chief Financial Officer
    Ron Harrell, Chief of Programming
Jim Marshall, Chief of Media Operations
Elaine Welcome, Chief of Administration/General Manager – Houston
    Shawn Farrington, Chief of Innovation
    Paul Martin, Chief of Development

The newly merged Hope Media Group brings together two organizations with a combined 75 years of ministry and media experience, beginning in 1982 with KSBJ/Houston and 1987 with WAYJ/Fort Myers. To learn more, visit www.hopemediagroup.com/merger.
