    Posted: 21 Apr 2022 05:50 PM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/224285/mary-lucias-exit-leads-to-departure-of-kcmp-program-director-jim-mcguinn/

Immediately after Mary Lucia signed-off from afternoons at Minnesota Public Radio AAA The Current 89.3 KCMP Minneapolis, staffers were informed of the immediate departure of Program Director Jim McGuinn.

In a memo from MPR President Duchesne Drew obtained by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune it was announced, Jim McGuinn is no longer with Minnesota
Public Radio. We are proud of the programming we delivered with Jim and are appreciative of his contributions at The Current. MPR will remain focused
on building a culture that attracts, engages and rewards talented people
who share our values and passion for public service.

The Star-Tribune reports that as Lucia signed-off from the station after
she stated, these last couple days hearing from you I know Ive made a difference. It doesnt matter if the company or management doesnt feel the
same way. In a Facebook post ahead of her departure Lucia wrote, Why Ive
made the heartbreaking decision to leave my position at The Current is a
long and nuanced story. The shortest version is Ive been trying for years
to affect positive change in the company. Ive been concerned with equity
and fair treatment of all of my sisters at the station. Past, present and future. Know your worth, embrace your unique talent and voice and lift each other up.

Minnesota Public Radio parent American Public Media CEO Jean Taylor told
Bring Me The News, Mary Lucia has been a vital member of, and contributor
to, The Current for 17 years. Shes immensely gifted, has built a
one-of-a-kind relationship with her listeners, and she will truly be
missed. Under my leadership, we continue to strengthen American Public
Media Group (APMG) culture and invest in talent, and these are top
priorities. I am firmly committed to creating and sustaining a diverse, inclusive and equitable environment where all employees, including women
and people of color, are respected and valued. This is critical as we seek
to fulfill APMG’s mission to be an indispensable resource for our audiences and an essential public service for our communities.

McGuinn had programmed KCMP since 2009. He previously programmed WEQX Manchester VT and KPNT St. Louis before a long run in Philadelphia where he programmed 103.9 WDRE in 1995 until its demise in 1996 and Y100 WPLY from
1997 until its demise in 2004. He then launched webcaster Y100Rocks.com
that would be merged into University of Pennsylvania AAA 88.5 WXPN as
Y-Rock on XPN. He hosted afternoons on WXPN from 2007 until his move to
    KCMP.

Media Ratings Council To Monitor Eight PPM Markets For Performance Declines

    Posted: 21 Apr 2022 10:33 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/224240/media-ratings-council-to-monitor-eight-ppm-markets-for-performance-declines/

The Media Rating Council has announced it and Nielsen have agreed to a
panel performance monitoring process in eight of the 30 currently
    accredited Nielsen Audio PPM markets.

The monitoring program will involve detailed and frequent monitoring and verification of key PPM panel performance metrics in the eight markets to insure Nielsen upholds their commitments to their PPM panel improvement
program that is designed to improve panel performances in those and other
PPM markets. The MRC has noticed ongoing declines in the panel performances
    in the eight markets.

The eight markets being monitored for performance are Baltimore, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, and Nassau-Suffolk.

After reviews of recent audits of Nielsen’s Audio PPM service, the Media Rating Council (MRC) and its Radio Committee have noted ongoing performance declines in a substantial number of currently accredited PPM Audio markets.
As a result, MRC and Nielsen have agreed upon a panel performance
monitoring process to be applied to eight of the 30 currently accredited Nielsen Audio PPM markets.

The eight markets included at this time in this performance monitoring
program are Baltimore, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami,
    Minneapolis, and Nassau-Suffolk.

This enhanced monitoring program is now underway, and will be continued
into the foreseeable future. It involves detailed and frequent monitoring
and verification of key PPM panel performance metrics in the eight markets.
In addition, these metrics will be compared against commitments Nielsen has made to MRC as part of a PPM panel improvement program that is designed to improve panel performances in these and other PPM markets. Nielsen Audio management also will meet regularly with the MRC’s Radio Committee to
review the results for these markets, and the Committee will consider their ongoing accreditation statuses with this information in hand.

It is both MRC’s and Nielsen’s goal to ensure these markets perform in a manner that warrants continued accreditation into the future, and the monitoring process has been established to ensure ongoing progress is being made toward that goal. Additionally, MRC will continue to review PPM panel performance in all markets, beyond the eight included in the formal
monitoring process and in all contexts in which this data is used in MRC-audited services.

MRC will provide additional updates on this monitoring initiative as events warrant.

    Posted: 21 Apr 2022 07:59 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/224226/soundstack-launches-integrated-streaming-podcast-platform/

Media Creek has combined its multiple audio distribution platforms into SoundStack.

SoundStack brings together Media Creek, EmpireStreaming, Abovecast, Audio Catapult, and Live365. Live365 will be the only one of those the retain its separate branding and public facing platform. The new company is centered around its SoundStack Engine product to integrate and automate streaming, podcasting, and audio monetization under the one platform.

SoundStack, an innovative audio-as-a-service (AaaS) company, launches today
to deliver and simplify audio creation, monetization and distribution at
scale to better serve creators, publishers and advertisers. SoundStack was created through the combination of companies Media Creek, EmpireStreaming, Live365, Abovecast and Audio Catapult which have serviced 12,000+ global publishers and represent the highest quality in audio delivery. In
addition, SoundStack today announces its flagship product, SoundStack
Engine, a solution that seamlessly integrates and automates streaming, podcasting, and monetization for audio in one platform.

Were obsessed with making digital audio intuitive for our customers and
have decades of experience to connect the dots that others may not see. As
a perfectly independent platform-agnostic technology company, we have the responsibility to innovate and accelerate audio for all of our partners, regardless of size, and to support the audio industry as a whole.
SoundStack was built in response to fragmented proprietary solutions
created over the last few years by major audio companies. Its time to give audio publishers and platforms a service that can work across boundaries, letting publishers truly optimize their technical and operational setup and maximize their ad revenue, said SoundStacks CEO and founder, Jon Stephenson.

SoundStack Engine is the audio industrys first platform that fully
automates and supports streaming, podcasting, and monetization with an intuitive UI or developer-friendly RESTful API that enables platforms and publishers with the ability to create live streams, podcast delivery, and
more within minutes across a global network built to scale. In addition, SoundStack Engine adds the benefit of enabling reporting, analytics, measurement and a speed to market that leads to measurable ROI. This added focus on monetization gives publishers the necessary tools and information
to propel their business model and profit. In 2021 alone, SoundStack paid publishers 50% more compared to 2020.

Our partnership with SoundStack has been incredibly valuable in helping us
with automatic ad insertion for our podcasts. The platform has increased revenue opportunities for us and provides a better and seamless listening experience to our digital audience across the Northwest, said Sage Van
Wing, executive editor, Talk & Podcasts, Oregon Public Broadcasting.

As part of the creation of SoundStack, Rockie Thomas, a publisher-side
digital audio expert who launched AdsWizz in the US, remains as CRO, and

    Digital, continues as COO.

    Aptivada Relaunches As Audience

    Posted: 21 Apr 2022 04:00 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/224183/aptivada-relaunches-as-audience/

Aptivada today announced that it is now Audience. This major rebrand
includes an updated name, logo, and branding to demonstrate its evolution
and refined mission to help companies collect, enrich, and activate their customers’ first-party data.

“Our mission for the last 10 years has been helping companies grow their audience through innovative digital experiences, so it’s only fitting that our new name and branding reflect what we do best,” said Creighton Green, co-founder of Audience. “As the marketing landscape continually changes, brands need to better understand and cater relevant campaigns to their customers. Our platform is proven to effectively capture, enrich, and
activate this crucial data while keeping data security and privacy at the forefront.”

With the imminent deprecation of third-party cookies, organizations will no longer have access to the data they have heavily relied on for marketing. Additionally, the increase in privacy laws and regulations around customer
data sharing makes collecting zero-party and first-party data more
important than ever. Organizations must rethink their data-collection strategies to own and grow their audience and implement methods to
continually learn and tailor their marketing campaigns and content.

Audience helps companies build deeper customer relationships and trust
through privacy-first digital experiences designed to collect and activate their data, which drives conversions, increases engagement, and strengthens brand loyalty. Audience empowers companies to build a bigger and better audience by creating experiences that incentivize actions and collect new
data via web forms, giveaways, surveys, polls, UGC, and ecommerce
transactions. Audience’s tools help organize these data points to create filtered and segmented user profiles that can then be integrated into more
than 80 industry-leading marketing and CRM platforms.

“With more than a decade of experience working with thousands of companies worldwide, our biggest strength is collecting customer data and enriching existing customer profiles,” said Brian Green, co-founder of Audience. “Our mission, when it comes to data collection, is to empower brands to build
