Alpha & EMF Swap Portland & San Antonio Area Facilities

    Posted: 04 Mar 2022 01:45 PM PST https://radioinsight.com/headlines/220842/alpha-emf-swap-portland-san-antonio-area-facilities/

Alpha Media and Educational Media Foundation are swapping licenses in the Portland and San Antonio markets.

Alpha Media will receive 102.9 K275CH Gresham OR from EMF. Alpha has been operating the translator (originally on 102.7) since 2014. It has been Hip
Hop We 102.9 fed via 101.9 KINK-HD2 Portland since September 2019.

EMF will receive 103.1 KHHL Karnes City TX. KHHL, while part of its San
Antonio cluster, does not have much of a signal in the populated portions instead covering rural areas between it and Victoria TX. It has been simulcasting 95.7 KLEY-FM Jourdanton, which recently flipped to Tejano.

While no cash will change hands in the license swap, Alpha will pay
$111,000 to offset a portion of the rent remaining on KHHLs lease. At
closing, EMF will either assume the remaining time on Alphas current lease
with Vertical Bridge or attempt to enter into a new lease agreement.

Coast Country 103.9/106.3 Debuts In Delmarva

    Posted: 04 Mar 2022 11:46 AM PST https://radioinsight.com/headlines/220836/coast-country-103-9-106-3-debuts-in-delmarva/

Draper Media has completed its format restructuring in Salisbury/Ocean City following the purchase of CHR OC104 103.9 WOCQ Berlin and Oldies “Kool
Oldies 104.3/105.1” W282AW Salisbury/W286BB Ocean Pines MD from Adams Radio Group.

The company launched Coast Country 103.9/106.3 at noon today. WOCQ, which
had been redirecting listeners to new sister Hot AC 102.5 WBOC-FM, has
taken on new WRDE-FM call letters. The formerly separate Chesapeake Country 106.3 WCEM-FM Cambridge MD adds coverage in the northwestern part of the market.

The Coast Country brand and WRDE-FM call letters were selected to create crossover with co-owned NBC affiliate WRDE Coast TV WRDE-LD including
hourly news reports on the station, just as WBOC-FM does with WBOC-TV. The station will feature the syndicated Big D Bubba in mornings. April
Brilliant moves from middays at WBOC-FM to the same timeslot. Jason Lee,
who has worked at multiple stations in the market, joins as afternoon host. Compass Medias Taste of Country Nights rounds out the weekday lineup.

The new format creates an in-market competitor to iHeartMedias Froggy 99.9
WWFG and a few rimshots covering parts of the market.

    Posted: 04 Mar 2022 11:21 AM PST https://radioinsight.com/headlines/220832/audacy-promotes-chris-ebbott-to-los-angeles-vp-programming-operations/

Audacy has announced it has promoted Chris Ebbott to Vice President of Programming and Operations for its Los Angeles stations.

Ebbott has been with the Los Angeles cluster since 2014, most recently as corporate Classic Hits Vice President and Brand Manager of Classic Hits
K-Earth 101.1 KRTH and Sunny 98.1 KXSN San Diego. He previously has served
as Operations Manager of Radio.coms Los Angeles studios and programmed CHR

and operations strategy for Variety Hits 93.1 Jack-FM KCBS-FM, Rhythmic AC
    94.7 The Wave KTWV, News 1070 KNX/97.1 KNX-FM, and the LGBTQ+ Channel Q
    brand.

Ebbott spent seven years as Operations Manager of KCBS-FM from 2004 to
2010. Ebbott has also programmed Bell Media CHR Virgin Radio 99.9 CKFM and Classic Hits Boom 97.3 CHBM Toronto, Hot AC Mix 95.7 WMWX Philadelphia and Alternative 101.5 The Zone KZON Phoenix.

Audacy has promoted Chris Ebbott to Vice President of Programming and Operations for its Los Angeles market, effective immediately. In this role, Ebbott will oversee programming and operations strategy for 93.1 Jack FM (KCBS-FM), KNX News 97.1 FM and 1070 AM, 94.7 The Wave (KTWV-FM) and
CHANNEL Q. Ebbott will continue in his roles as Audacy’s Classic Hits
Format Vice President and Brand Manager of K-EARTH and San Diego sister
    station Sunny 98.1 (KXSN-FM).

“Chris has proven to be one of the brightest and most innovative brand managers in the country, said Jeff Federman, Regional President and Market Manager, Audacy Southern California. Promoting him to this role was a
natural step for our cluster and we have full confidence in his ability to
help us move our brands forward.

“Audacy Los Angeles is home to an all-star team of brand managers,” said Ebbott. “To work with them growing and evolving some of the worlds most iconic and successful radio brands is a dream job. Thank you to Jeff
Federman, Susan Larkin and Jeff Sottolono for this amazing opportunity.”

Ebbott joined the company in 2014 as Brand Manager for K-EARTH, helping to transform the legacy station into an innovation-focused brand that now consistently ranks No. 1 in its Los Angeles target demos. Under Ebbott’s leadership, K-EARTH won Marconi Awards in 2018 for Classic Hits Station of
the Year and 2019 Legendary Station of the Year. In 2019, Ebbott became the company’s classic hits format vice president, positioning 12 of them in the top five within their respective 25-54 demos, and in 2020, he was elevated
to Vice President of Programming. Ebbott also helped drive digital
innovation for the market, including the launch of LGBTQ+ lifestyle station CHANNEL Q. Prior to joining the company, Ebbott served as a program
director for Bell Media, where he led the programming and product strategy
for Toronto radio stations CKFM 99.9 FM (Top 40) and CHBM Boom 97.3 (Adult Hits) along with their digital platforms. In 2013, following the merger of
Bell Media and Astral Media, Ebbott served as the Program Director for the newly rebranded CKFM 99.9 Virgin Radio. From 2004 to 2010, Ebbott had a
stint with CBS Radio as Operations Manager, in which he helped the newly-launched 93.1 JACK FM reach a #1 ranking in the 25-54 demo among L.A. stations within the first month.
