Good morning to you,
Every Friday afternoon, Andy, ZS6ADY or I (Dennis, ZS4BS) start writ
ing the SARL News for the upcoming Sunday, but we dread looking at what
has arrived in the News Inbox. We normally find ONE item – the Pr
opagation Report by Hannes, ZS6BZP, nothing else. Yes, there are Fri
days when the News Inbox is full, but they are very scarce!
Yesterday, 26 February there were 2 items in the News Inbox – th
e propagation report and the MoU between the SARL and RSK! And I used thos
e two items to write the SARL News Sunday 28 February 2021.
There are two contests next weekend – 6 March the SARL YL Sprint a
nd 7 March the SARL Hamnet 40 m contest. The Clubs hosting the contests ha
ve not submitted a news item. Are the dates for Club meetings, as shown
in the Diary of Events, correct? What are the Clubs planning for their
meetings – visitors to your area would like to know! Are the Pret
oria and West Rand flea markets the only such events in the country? What
is the different VHF/UHF groups doing? What about Parks on the Air, SOT
A or the CW Group. IOTA is difficult in South Africa, we have the island
s, but access is limited.
Please provide local news – advertise your Club, your interest g
roup, your contest, challenge other Clubs for contest participation.
ADVERTISE AMATEUR RADIO!
