Juan Enters Killeen/Temple

A little over a year after flipping from Classic Rock to Regional Mexican
La Grande 101.7, Townsquare Media flipped the station again to Spanish
Adult Hits as Juan 101.7 in late June.

The move places the Santos Latin Media 24/7 format on the station as it
becomes the second Townsquare owned property to utilize the Juan
programming along with Juan 95.7 1390 WEOK Poughkeepsie NY.

KLTD flipped from Classic Rock to Regional Mexican in May 2021. The station dropped to a 1.8 share in the Fall 2021 Nielsen Audio ratings. Portions of
the Killeen/Temple markets are served by competing stations in the format
from the neighboring Austin and Waco markets.

WJZR's Jazz Programming Comes To An End

Lee Rusts North Coast Radio Inc. signed off Jazz North Coast 105.9 WJZR Rochester NY on Sunday evening.

As first reported by Northeast Radio Watch, the stations sign-off comes as
Rust has decided to retire. WJZR has featured similar programming since the Rust signed-on the station in 1993. A second-generation broadcaster whose father owned 1180 WHAM and 98.9 WHFM in the market, Rust was also
responsible for launching the Jazz format on 90.1 WGMC as General Manager
in the mid 1980s.

NERW states that the sign-off came just after 10:30pm on Sunday with Rust playing Miles Davis’ “In a Silent Way” followed by a brief farewell statement.

Plans for the stations license going forward have not been announced.

Geoff Owens Joins Alpha Media Portland In Dual Programming Role

Alpha Media has announced the appointment of Geoff Owens as Content
Director of Hip Hop We 102.9 K275CH Gresham/KINK-HD2 Portland and Assistant Content Director of CHR Live 95.5 KBFF Portland.

The move marks a return to Portland for Owens, who spent most of his career
at iHeartMedia in the market. Owens began his career at then Jammin 95.5
KXJM Portland as an intern in 2004. He followed the station to 107.5
through CBS and iHeartMedia ownership and name tweak to Jamn 107.5. He rose
to night host in 2010, afternoon host in 2012, APD/MD in 2016 and Program Director in 2017. During his tenure at iHeartMedia, which ended in January 2020, Owens also programmed Hip Hop 104.9 KUBE Eatonville/Tacoma WA. He
spent the past two years as PD/afternoon host at Bicoastal Media CHR 104.7
KDUK Eugene OR before departing in early May for his return to Portland.

EVP of Content Phil Becker.

Sandbloom shares, Geoff is not only a huge asset to both We 102.9 and Live 95.5, but he brings to Portland a toolkit of skills that we use across all
of our Alpha stations. Embracing a can do attitude on whatever project he
is given, he is a most-welcomed addition to our team.

Owens commented, It feels great to be back in Portland in my home town with
a company I’ve admired for a long time. Add to that the fact that I get to work directly with 2 great brands Live WE is an added bonus! Thank you to Lisa, Gene Phil for giving me the tools, the opportunity and the early

Owens comes to Alpha directly from KDUK as Program Director and PM Drive
Host in Eugene. Prior to that, Owens refined his programming, hosting and social media skills at KXJM (Portland), KKRZ (Portland) KUBE (Seattle).
