    Southern Georgia Trio Ceases Operations

    Posted: 06 Jul 2022 12:06 PM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/231682/southern-georgia-trio-ceases-operations/

A trio of stations in Tifton GA have ceased operations after their parent company was sold leaving them with out access to their transmission
    equipment.

PlantTel, the parent company of Plant Broadcasting and their Classic Rock
Rock 105.7 WFFM Ashburn, Country 107.5 WTIF-FM Omega, and Classic Country
Real Country 99.9 1340 WTIF/99.9 W260AT Tifton, was sold to TruVista Communications in November 2021 with the radio station licenses transferred
to PlantTel CEO Danny Sterlings Sterling Southern Land LLC.

Now the stations have ceased operations as the closing of the PlantTel deal left them without some of the assets, including access to their towers,
needed for operation. The STA filing with the FCC notes that the stations
will be divested prior to resuming operations. In the filing Danny Sterling wrote, The antenna structures for WTIF(AM) and its FM Translator W260AT,
both serving Tifton, Georgia; WTIF-FM, serving Omega, Georgia; and
WFFM(FM), serving Ashburn, Georgia (herein, “Stations”), are being disposed of in a separate transaction involving some of the tangible assets used or useful by the Stations. As a result of this disposition, which is
scheduled to occur on July 6, 2022, the antenna structures will not, in the near term, be available to the Stations, requiring the Stations to suspend operations until they can be divested (subject to Commission approval) to
third parties. Upon such approval and divestiture, and resumption of the
right of access to the antenna structures, the Stations propose to resume operations under the ownership of the third parties.
