    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 06:07 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/211286/kelly-lynch-to-depart-wgy-mornings/

    iHeartMedia News/Talk 810 WGY Schenectady/103.1 WGY-FM Albany NY has
announced that Kelly Lynch will exit the station on September 3 for a new position outside of broadcasting.

Lynch has co-hosted mornings at WGY since November 2010 mostly with Chuck Custer and since earlier this year with Doug Goudie. Prior to joining WGY, Lynch spent a decade as a news anchor and reporter at WNYT-TV Albany and
has also anchored for WKTV Utica NY.

iHeartMedia Albany today announced the impending departure of Kelly Lynch
from WGY’s popular morning show “Doug and Kelly.” Her last day will be Friday, September 3.

After more than ten years hosting the morning show on WGY with Chuck Custer
and more recently Doug Goudie, Lynch will be embarking on a new career
outside of the broadcast industry. During her time at WGY, she helped raise millions of dollars for the Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center and for many Capital District children’s charities through WGY’s Christmas Wish Program.

“I would like to thank WGY and iHeartMedia for allowing me to be a part of the tremendously important work we have done over the last 11 years,” said Lynch. I have enjoyed having a front row seat to the biggest news stories
of the last decade, and it has been an immense privilege to share these
stories with our listeners. I have also had the honor of working alongside
the most talented people in our industry and treasure the lasting
friendships I have formed along the way.”

“Kelly has been entertaining and informing our listeners as part of WGY’s morning show for over a decade, and has contributed greatly to the
advancement of businesses, charities and communities in Albany,” said
Kristen Delaney, Area President for iHeartMedia Albany-Poughkeepsie-Sussex. “I know I speak for our listeners and our staff when I wish Kelly all the best as she embarks on new adventures.”

Rock 105 Becomes La Pantera In Eastern NC

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 05:23 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/211280/rock-105-becomes-la-pantera-in-eastern-nc/

Dick Broadcasting has flipped Rock 105 105.5 WXQR-FM Jacksonville/New Bern
NC to Regional Mexican La Pantera 105.5.

The new format debuted with Univisions syndicated El Bueno, la Mala y el
    Feo in mornings.

WXQR-FM serves the southern half of the broad Greenville/New Bern/Kinston/Jacksonville market and also rimshots Wilmington NC. The flip places the station in competition with Conner Media’s “104.7 La Invasora” WZUP La Grange, which serves the Kinston portion of the market.

WXQR-FM had featured Rock programming since the 1970s. The flip leaves
Curtis Media Classic Rock 106.5 WSFL as the only Rock based signal in the market. Rock 105 had been promoting that the brand would remain
broadcasting online, but at this point it is airing the new format on its streams.

Saga Goes In Rewind In Brattleboro & Keene

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 04:30 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/211264/saga-goes-in-rewind-in-brattleboro-keene/

Saga Communications has expanded its Classic Hits Rewind brand to two more markets.

Northeast Radio Watch reports that Saga flipped Variety Hits 92.7 Bratt-FM WKVT-FM Brattleboro VT and Fox Sports Keene 1220 WZBK/102.3 W272DZ Keene NH
to Rewind 92.7/102.3 on Tuesday, July 27. WKVT-FMs airstaff of morning host Parker Springfield and 12-5pm host Natalie Knowles remain in place.

Like the remainder of Sagas Rewind branded stations, WKVT-FM/WZBK is
focusing on music from the 70s through 90s positioning as You Lived It, We
Play It. The shift now places Rewind in twelve of the 27 markets that Saga operates stations in.

WKVT-FM had been Classic Hits until it shifted to Classic Rock in December 2016. It flipped again to the now-defunct Bratt-FM brand in March 2018.
