VCY America Expands To Des Moines

VCY America continues its rapid acquisition spree this year with the
purchase of Truth Broadcastings Christian Preaching Truth Network 99.3
KTIA-FM Huxley/Des Moines IA.

VCY America will pay $825,000 for the station which rimshots Des Moines.
The purchase follows VCYs recent purchases of 92.7 KREV Alameda/San
Francisco, 97.7 KRCK-FM Mecca/Palm Springs, and 104.3 KFRH North Las Vegas
for $6 million and Regional Mexican “La Ley 104.7” KTXC Lamesa/Midland TX for $650,000. The Wisconsin based Christian Preaching network is heard on
89.7 KVCI Montezuma in areas southeast of Des Moines.

Gateway Creative Broadcasting has launched its Christian Rhythmic Boost
Radio network in a sixth market.

Boost debuted this morning on Educational Media Foundations 103.7 K279BO Portland/97.9 KLVP-HD3 Aloha replacing EMFs K-Love 90s programming. The
network has spread from its homebase of St. Louis over the past few months
to be heard on translators in Chicago, Fayetteville NC, Minneapolis,
Pittsburgh and now Portland.

Fuego On The Move In Sacramento

Entravision is in the process of once again shifting formats at its
Sacramento cluster.

Bilingual Rhythmic “Fuego 103.5“ KHHM Sacramento has begun simulcasting on 101.9 KNTY Shingle Springs ahead of the move of the format and call letters
to the 101.9 facility on Monday, August 2.

The Fuego brand debuted on KHHM in July 2019 replacing Hip Hop Hot 103.5.
It held a 1.5 share in the June 2021 Nielsen Audio ratings. Entravision has since expanded the brand to the Las Vegas, Palm Springs, and the Rio Grande Valley, while launching the syndicated Shoboy Show for mornings.

Moving to the 101.9 facility will give the format a signal upgrade as it
moves from the 6kW/95m Class A signal on 103.5 to the 47kW/154m Class B
signal of 101.9. This is the third format change in two years for that facility. KNTY dropped its Country 101.9 The Wolf identity in July 2019 to simulcast Regional Mexican “La Tricolor” 99.9 KRCX-FM Marysville. It flipped again in January 2020 to Ranchera “Jose 101.9“ before beginning to simulcast KHHM earlier this month.

During that timeframe KNTY dropped from a 2.0 share in its final monthly as Country to a 1.6 in its final monthly simulcasting KRCX-FM, to a 0.5 share
in the June 2021 ratings.

No word yet on what will debut on 103.5 KNTY on August 2.

Shawn Knight Joins Majic 107.7 Topeka

Cumulus Media AC Majic 107.7 KMAJ-FM Carbondale/Topeka KS has announced the addition of Shawn Knight to their morning show.

Knight joins Angie Stevens in mornings succeeding Sean Kelly, who exited at
the end of June to be closer to his daughters. Knight most recently served
as APD/afternoon host at Townsquare Media Adult RB 107.3 Kiss-FM KISX Tyler
TX. He has also worked at WKZJ Columbus GA, WPWX, WGCI, and WSRB Chicago,
and WTLC and WTLC-FM Indianapolis.

CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has named veteran on-air personality Shawn Knight as Host of The Majic Morning Show on Topeka, KS, Adult Contemporary radio station Majic 107.7/KMAJ-FM. Knight joins Co-Host Angie Stevens on
The Majic Morning Show, which airs Monday through Friday from
5:30am-10:00am.

A native of Chicago, IL, Knight has been an on-air staple for over two
decades. He was most recently Assistant Brand Manager/Afternoon Host at
Urban AC KISX – 107.3 KISS FM in Tyler, TX. Knight has also been heard on Urban AC WKZJ/K92.7 in Columbus, GA, on Urban station WPWX-FM/Power 92 in Chicago, IL, on WTLC/106.7FM and 1310AM in Indianapolis, IN, and on Urban/Gospel station WGCI/107.5FM and 1390AM in Chicago. He was also a
weekly TV contributor on WFLD Fox 32’s Good Day Chicago. Knight currently hosts “The Shawn Knight Show Podcast.”

Amber Lee, Operations Manager and Program Director, Majic 107.7/KMAJ-FM,
