With the newsgroup due to go inactive at the end of the month, I was
wondering who might still be reading it.

I have been following rec.radio.broadcasting since it was created in
1992. Searching the Google Groups archives at:

    https://groups.google.com/g/rec.radio.broadcasting

I found a few posts from me on the following subjects over the years:

    - Extension 720 with Milt Rosenberg on WGN

    - Dr. Demento

    - My contributions to Scott Fybush's AM/FM DX'ing FAQ about the GE Superradio II

    - Mystery of the unattended, automated AM station "Magic 1490" in Omaha, Nebraska

    - KOIL and KKAR switching AM frequencies

    - Review of an inexpensive Insignia IBOC/HD FM radio from Best Buy

    - The FM radio station at my undergraduate University, WMUC at the University of Maryland

    - Memories of the late Bill Pfeiffer, the first moderator, who died in 1999

If you are still out there and reading this, how did you first discover rec.radio.broadcasting? Any notable memories you wish to share one last
    time here in the newsgroup?

    Thanks,

Well Paul, giganews has 14885 messages going back to June 24, 2003. For myself, this was an obvious progression after leaving Compuserve, where I really miss its forum-and-library structure, along with a bpf forum where it seemed folks were older-and-remembered the wonderful days of top40 radio.
Along the way we had many music surveys posted here.
As far as radio discussions, I wish I could visit, but cloudflare is in my way. Another nice thing, as of now radio-insight comes in here several hours before an 8PM Eastern mailing.
    Chime

I've been on and off of Usenet for several years, mostly lurking.
Believe it or not, I've only been in this NG for 6 months to a year.
I'm not quite sure how I came across it, but I greatly appreciate
    reading the feed daily.
