The five station cluster that Reier Broadcasting Company shut down in June
2018 will soon return to full-time operations under new ownership.
Cam Maxwell’s Desert Mountain Broadcasting has agreed to purchase the
former Oldies 93.7 KOBB-FM Bozeman, Classic Rock 97.5 KOZB Livingston,
Country 99.9 KBOZ-FM Bozeman, Talk 1090 KBOZ Bozeman, and Sports “ESPN 1230” KOBB Bozeman from receiver Richard Samson for $300,000. The stations have operated minimally since just to keep their licenses alive. The
stations were involuntarily transferred to Samson for divestment in 2019 following Bill Reiers death and a 2020 sale to Ted Austins SW Montana Media failed to close.
Desert Mountain Broadcasting was formed by Maxwell in 2019 when he
purchased the Connoisseur Media cluster in Billings that he had led as
General Manager since 2015. It first entered Bozeman with the purchase of
1490 KYWL/104.1 K281CX Bozeman from Chaparral Broadcasting for $50,000 last October and launched Rock “104.1 The Zone” in March.
An LMA to begin restoring the stations to operation began earlier this
month.

A game of musical chairs is taking place amongst on-air talent at three stations in Los Angeles.
DJ Eddie One Mendoza departed as APD/afternoon host at Meruelo Media
Bilingual Rhythmic Cali 93.9 KLLI just shy of two years at the station last Friday and returned to his previous home in afternoons at SBS Spanish CHR
Mega 96.3 KXOL. Mendoza joined KLLI in September 2019 after previously
spending fourteen years at KXOL. He has also served as a mixer for Sirius
from 2001 to 2005 and 102.7 KIIS-FM in 2005 and 2006.
To fill his spot at KLLI, Melissa Rios has moved from the morning show at Meruelos Rhythmic CHR Power 106 KPWR. Rios had joined KPWR at the launch
of Nick Cannon Mornings in June 2019 following six years at KXOL in
mornings.
Rios is still listed as co-hosting Power 106 Mornings with Teddy Mora and
DJ Carisma that debuted following the station shifting Nick Cannon to
middays earlier this month. We have confirmed she is off the morning show
now as is Carisma, who has moved to a weekend on-air and mixing slot. Mora continues in the slot this week joined by Demi Lobo, Noah Ayala and
producer Noor Wahba.
