I have a Turner "Expander 500" desk mic that I bought back in '77 maybe '78. It
served me well on my old Siltronix 10-11C. It's been well over 15 years since
I've had the Siltronix or this mic wired to anything. I now need to wire it to
a couple of radios. I have the pin-outs for the radios and have homebrewed adapters for each. What I need to find out is which wire does what. The audio
and ground are obvious, but before I start experimenting and possibly smoke the
mic or either rig, can anyone help with the other wires on this mic? Thanks.

Don't worry about "smoking" the rigs. Modern CBs don't
use mechanical relays that can be damaged by grounding
    the relay coil low side.

Unless you're running old SBEs you have nothing to worry
    about.

Doubtful anyone still around here since last post 1999, here goes anyway.

I have a MK2 Expander 500 mic with lock, it doesn't transmit loud enough, I believe there is a capacitor replacement that resolves the issue, example of one fitted 2.2uf 50volts, anyone got any help.

80's I changed a capacitor which did the job, unfortunately after so many years unable to recall which one or its value.
