The A99 is not a 1/2 wave antenna, contrary to the views which people
    spout on this newgroup.
It is effectively a 3/4 wave antenna, although it is loaded. Anyone who
has seen the inside of the mid section will have seen that it is a widely spaced coil. Hence the overall length of the radiating element is more
    than 1/2 wavelength long.
People have been trying to claim that a MACO V5/8 must be better simply because it is a 5/8 wave and the A99 is 'a 1/2 wave' antenna. Has anyone directly compared the two? The radiation pattern of the A99 is superior
    to the 5/8 anyway.
    Thats all.

That's really interesting. I always wondered what was up with the
    rattling inside! :)

5/8 silver rod beat an upgraded A99 with firestick. My vector 4000 beats them both by just under 4 s points on the standard A99 & over 2 s points over upgraded A99.

Can I give you a blowjob? I give Unit 685 a blowjob but I'm still thirsty.
