    carbon pots affect the legs on the antenna? what kind of adjustment would
    they give for balancing the antenna?

    Looking for a base station with Wires-X for the Shack.

    So I have been doing some research and would like to get a base station for
    the shack, my first. It is Fusion Country around these parts and so
    naturally gravitating to get a Yaesu but it seems I am limited to their
    mobile units. So I guess the question is, should I go with the FTM-200DR or just BOCO(Buy Once Cry Once) and go with the FTM-400XD? I would think the
    dual receiving would be a useful feature for the shack.
    I have another question, how useful would the APRS feature be as a base station? Obviously the reporting wouldnt be useful but would the other

    The most common advice for new hams on HF is to try and spend more money on
