NewsWest for Sunday 22nd May 2022 is the New Amateurs edition, where we
welcome newcomers to the hobby, and lean our stories towards informing
newbies and those who appreciate the occasional reminder.



What are the essentials for starting up in Amateur Radio? The obvious is a radio, but what else? We’ll talk about that and we'll also talk about resources that will support you as you progress in the hobby.



Chris brings us news of the latest QST magazine, talks about his experience
of the WIA AGM, and introduces a new contest that’s not quite a contest,
but then again, perhaps it is.



And finally, Katanning Hamfeast has been announced for June 20th, and we
have details on that.
