    Etiquette during pileups frustrating me.

I make it a point to use my best operating etiquette I can during pileups especially DX but I find that it seems like 90% of the other stations I
hear calling dont. While I wait for the station to call for more stations
other people start calling often repeatedly or just giving partial calls as soon as the previous QSO is near over. More often than not even thought
they call for QRZ the station receiving will take calls from the fracas
that occurred before I even got my call out on the air. So my question is
do I keep doing what Im doing and work at a disadvantage despite doing
things correctly or since almost everyone is operating with reckless
abandon just accept that as the way it is and do the same? Im relatively
new to HF and definitely conflicted. Is this just how it is? submitted

    Question for Yaesu FT-DX10 Owners

    Posted: 29 Dec 2021 08:24 AM PST https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/rrbzbv/question_for_yaesu_ftdx10_owners/

I just picked one of these up to replace my Kenwood TS-590SG. So far, Im
very pleased with its performance. The DNR lives up to all of the hype.
Heres the question. The main tuning knob is surrounded by what Yaesu calls
the "MPVD" ring (Multi-Purpose VFO Outer Dial) . On my radio, this ring is quite loose. I can move it up and down along its axis. Is this the way its designed? submitted by /u/Scarify

Land Uses: Special Uses; Annual Programmatic Administrative Fee for Communications Use Authorizations

Hi all, please take the time to comment of this forest service proposed fee increase. It has to be submitted prior to February 22nd, 2022. Pass this
email along to get others who value our ham repeaters to comment. Look for
the comment button just below the proposal title.
The link to the proposal is: https://www.regulations.gov/document/FS_FRDOC_0001-3605
Heres a receipt copy of my comment that I submitted this morning:
    Agency: FOREST SERVICE (FS)
    Document Type: Proposed Rule
Title: Land Uses: Special Uses; Annual Programmatic Administrative Fee for Communications Use Authorizations
    Document ID: FS_FRDOC_0001-3605
    Comment:
I am an amateur radio operator and the current treasurer of our local
amateur radio society. We are a small group in a small town and dont have
much of a yearly budget to maintain our expenses. COVID 19 has curtailed
our membership dues income in the last couple of years. We currently have a 144-148 MHz repeater situated on a high peak (relatively speaking). This repeater serves the amateur radio community and more importantly serves our local Search and Rescue volunteer organization. Our biggest expenses
annually are for the annual lease that the forest service imposes and our equipment insurance through the ARRL (our national ham radio organization).
We would not be able to come close to affording the proposed $1,400 annual
fee. If this proposal goes forward, our little club would have to remove
the repeater and with it, remove the benefits of extended communications
into an underserved area of forest land where cell service is spotty at
    best. submitted by /u/mkaragas
