    Propagation

Still relatively new to FT8. I noticed most greyline DX signals on the east coast (US) come from OC while South America works mostly AS during the same time frame. Working only with a attic dipole for 10 Meters, is it my
reception or is their specific DX patterns for North/South America?

    WSJT-X Question

    Posted: 19 May 2022 05:08 PM PDT https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/utgraf/wsjtx_question/

Hello, I am new to FT8. When I am calling CQ on 20M, is it normal for the
TX 5 message "CALL CALL 73" to NOT be sent? It just ends at TX 4
message "CALL CALL RRR." For some reason, WSJT-X will only send that when I
am answering a CQ (in the appropriate sequence), but NOT when I call CQ
myself. Is this normal? submitted by /u/SwimmingAd5

HF while Driving? Long drive to Work and Back.

    Posted: 19 May 2022 04:06 PM PDT https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/utfkzu/hf_while_driving_long_drive_to_work_and_back/

Hi folks. My drive time to work one way is 1.5 hours. Im looking at what
band would be best to work on the go. Ive seen one video of a ham on 10m.
Im still new to all the bands and radio propagation. I know that a proper antenna and proper bonding is needed. I drive a Ford E-350 Econoline
passenger van. I can mount the antenna using a mag mount or by mounting it
on the lip of my rear doors or hood. Im learning about bonding.
The radio will be a Xiego G90 and so it will be max 20W. Suggestions?
    Thanks.
Update: my drive times are roughly 6:30a - 9a and 4:30p - 7p depending when
I leave the house and work. During summer those are daylight hours. During winter they are night hours usually. submitted by /u/WillShattuck
