    How to test Drake TS7 Transceiver

    Hi! A friend of mine asked me to list a drake TR7 ham radio for him. It
    appears to power on and the controls are responsive. But Im not able to
    test whether it receives a signal. Could you recommend an inexpensive
    antenna for me to buy for testing purposes, and a simple setting that would
    let me test if it can receive AM or FM? I obviously want to be mindful of
    not violating any laws.
    Correction: headline is inaccurate. Its a TR7, not TS7 submitted by

    icom 1.2 ghz radio

    Anyone know what the current icom 1.2 ghz radio is and about how much i can reasonably expect to spend in canada? Ive done some research and it seems
    the id 1 is discontinued and thats really the only radio that seems to pop

    id 4100 and pc?

    I see many hams connecting ther radios to there computers. What can you do
    with a radio connected to a pc? How do you connect a radio to a pc? More specifically on the icom id 4100 but curious about the topic. I am not referring to programming but moreso controling software aprs (i heard
    someone talking about emails via the radio?) Waterfall spectrums ect.
