    Recording your own on-air transmission?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2022 11:32 PM PST https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/sl1ain/recording_your_own_onair_transmission/

Im attempting to investigate various attributes of my audio signal.
Anyone have any experience with recording the actual transmitted signal
    from their own radio?
Im using 5 Watts, but even transmitting into a dummy load and recording
audio from a receiver in the same building is severely distorted.
I suspect that I need to attenuate my signal more, but Im not sure how best
    to go about this.
    Pointers welcome. submitted by /u/vk6flab

I know this radio is only 20 watts, is it powerful enough to talk to like Europe or Asia with people in those countries able to hear me clearly loud
and clear very often, how does that compare to the more expensive ham radio that has 100 Watts? I’m a general class operator but I don’t have an HF radio yet and I need some tips, Because my budget for a HF ham radio is $350-$400 submitted by /u/Routine_Watercress76

    IC-705 amplifier options?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2022 12:09 AM PST https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/sl1vcp/ic705_amplifier_options/

Im on the US wait list for the diy599 pa500, but the $1000+ price has me reconsidering. Im sure its good and I appreciate all the work Oliver has
put into this, but budgets are budgets.
Xiegu has a 125w offering, but looks out of stock the few places Ive
checked (other than ebay). Ive also seen a 45w model from an unknown mfr
pop up here and there, but little info about it. The price is good, compact
and is in stock, but the only info regarding it being used with the 705 is
some mentions of the control requiring some extra work but little detail on what.
Are there any others with a similar footprint to any of the above that I
should be looking at? submitted by /u/retreadz
