    From the ARRL ARES plan,
One of the responsibilities of the emergency coordinator at the local level
    is …
    • Establish viable working partnerships with federal, state, county, city governmental and/or private agencies in the ARES jurisdictional area that
needs the services of ARES in emergencies.
A rule in emergency management is "Don't wait for a disaster to exchange business cards".
One of the best places to serve your community by meeting others concerned about the County is at the Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting

Do you want a Section Emergency Coordinator? #ARRL #hamradio

    Posted: 22 Oct 2021 05:58 PM PDT http://kc5fm.blogspot.com/2021/10/do-you-want-section-emergency.html

In the most recent ARRL ARES newsletter, the "plan", as updated, was
    discussed.
Here it is for your reading enjoyment. http://www.arrl.org/files/file/ARES%20Plan%202_1-a%20(002).pdf
The SM selects the person (of course with input from the cabinet).
Read the requirements for the local EC and up the food chain.
These posts are essential for potential life-safety aspects but, often overlooked, also grants for the local jurisdiction as well as amateur radio groups.
What you learned in kindergarten applies today. "Those that play well in
the sandbox have good toys. Those that don't … don't!"
You have a ballot. Vote. The only wasted ballot is the one that goes in the landfill.
