hi i changed the c55 and c40 caps in my tempo one and now the smeter is pegged to the right, i tested both final tubes and one tube tested bad, can any one tell me if this bad final tube is causing the issue with the smeter? please email me at
    freilichmst@aol.com, thanks marc!

S meter on receive is pegged? Bad finals should have nothing to do with that... are you able to receive signals?

If the meter is pegged then the AGC voltage is cranked way up, and that
could be something associated with the V12b stage. D103, an open pot,
a bad AGC tube, or maybe something before the AGC tube is oscillating.

C55 is input decoupling on one final... C40 is part of the plate tuning network.. neither have anything to do with AGC.... what lead you to replace them? When you said that you changed capacitors and now the AGC voltage
was off, I was assuming you were changing electrolytics... and God knows
these things have issues with electrolytics...
