Lincoln Shortwave Club - Bringing Amateur Radio to the Community
Following the decision earlier in the year that Lincoln Shortwave Radio
Club should affiliate to RAFARS due to our involvement at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre and many other activities like the annual
Dambusters SES the club has now been officially affiliated to the RAFARS.
Many thanks to Vince Lewis G4DQP for setting this up for us.

Saturday the 13th of November at the shack.
We had a good turn out at the shack this morning and as well as drinking
lots of tea and setting the world to rights. We were able to move all of
the equipment that had been left outside during the green shed move into
the green shed, now located next to the radio shack. As well as move all
the stuff that was blocking access to the loft into the green shed. Many
thanks for all the hard work too Les G1LQB, Pete 2E0FGA, Steve M5ZZZ, Dave G1WVO. Daron 2E0GFY.

On Wednesday night, Mick M6OYP, a member of or club gave a talk on his
journey with the Invictus games and Archery.
Starting at 7:30pm members of the club moved into the village hall where
Mick talked through his presentation on the Invictus Games and how he had applied to volunteer at the next Games in 2022.
Mick then went on to tell the story of how a chance meeting of the members
of the Invictus Games GB team turned into a new found joy of Archery with
the intention of taking his initial competition wins further by training to compete in the 2023 Games if he can get selected.
The Club wishes Mick the best of luck in the future.

Earlier this month Steve, M5ZZZ, gave a talk to the members on End Fed Half Wave Antennas.
Steve started out by showing a selection of videos produced by Waters & Stanton.
Steve then told us about his own experiences with Half Wave End Fed
Antennas and passed round a 49:1 Transformer to show how easily one could
be made. It is hoped that from this talk members will be encouraged to go
out and try building there on EFHW even if it is used as an easy portable setup.

Remember last week the lads dismantled the green shed, well this week they
put it back together.
Car Park on arrival at Aisthorpe (Shed)Car Park when leaving Aisthorpe
(Shed gone)
I didn’t get there until gone 10 and the lads were waiting for Steve M5ZZZ
to go home and fetch the nuts and bolts which he didn’t remember putting
gin his car!!! The base was already in place and levelled ready for the
shed being put on once Steve got back; luckily David M7OYN was there with
his phone and took a few photos.
We had a few more strong men volunteer today so it made it a little easier although still hard work; thanks again to Andy M0OYE, Daron 2E0GFY, David G0BEN, Stephen M5SJM, Stuart M7RSF, Les G1LQB, David M7OYN, Steve
M5ZZZ,and Peter 2E0FGA. Like me, I think some were giving moral support rather than heavy lifting but they were there.
Shed erected and ready to fillG4STO fed the workers
