    DX - News

    The Australian authority ACMA is setting a new "Call Sign Policy" in motion with effects for VK9 and VK0 prefixes. VK0 will be limited to the Australian Antarctic Territory and will no longer be used for Heard and McDonald Islands, which will partake in the VK9 prefix now. VK9 will be limited to Australian External Territories and will no longer be used for Lord Howe Island, which will partake in the VK2 (New South Wales) prefix. Macquarie Island, is also
    not part of the Australian Antarctic Territory, and, since it is administrated from Tasmania, partakes now in the VK7 prefix.
