I've been working with our Section Managers to update our list of DXCC
QSL Card Checkers. The current list on the ARRL website will be
updated to reflect the removal of hams who are no longer able to serve
and to include new appointments as they are made. My goal is to improve
the geographic coverage of card checkers to make them more available at
local hamfests and club meetings. It's a challenge because our Sections
are pretty big and have significant rural areas.
While Logbook of the World (LoTW) has reduced the volume of QSL cards
needed for DXCC confirmation, QSL cards are still actively exchanged.
There is still a need for people to verify those confirmations.
I'm pleased to announce the first in what I hope is a series of
appointments. Lance Hoffman, WN0L, from Colon, NE, is our newest DXCC
QSL Card checker.
The Card Checker appointment requires accomplishment in DXing, high
integrity, and willingness to travel a reasonable distance to support
ham events.
Lance is a very active DXer. He has 9 band DXCC and is on the DXCC
Honor Roll with 336 current credits and 342 total.
Please join me in congratulating Lance. I very much appreciate his volunteering.
