You've probably heard the news that Dave Propper, K2DP, and I had no
opposing candidates in the Midwest Director and Vice Director election.
We have been declared elected and will start our new terms on January 1,
    2024.

I must admit that we both have mixed feelings. It would be good to see
other candidates since bringing in new blood to an organization is a
good thing. Campaigning for a position also provides strong impetus to
think through what you're about and how to explain that to others. If
you have any interest in running for office in the future, please let us
know. Dave and I would be happy to discuss what the positions entail
    - the level of work and time commitment, the good, the bad, and the challenging.

We would also like to make sure that you know that there are many
volunteer positions available both within your Section, Division and
ARRL organization level. These positions provide you, our ARRL members,
with a variety of opportunities to contribute in many ways to both your
local amateur radio community and the ARRL at the organizational level. Ultimately, the strength of our organization is derived from its
    membership! These volunteer positions include:

    â-¢ Volunteer Instructors
    â-¢ Public Service
    â-¢ Technical Specialists
    â-¢ Volunteer Counsel
    â-¢ Volunteer Examiners
    â-¢ Incoming QSL Bureau
    â-¢ Volunteer Consulting Engineer
    â-¢ Field Appointments

Additional details on the many available volunteer positions can be
found on the ARRL web site at

    http://www.arrl.org/volunteer-opportunities

You may also contact either of us or your Section Manager.

Dave and I are truly honored to be able to continue to serve the ARRL
and amateur radio. As I've often said, it is a pleasure to give back
to a hobby that has brought so much joy, skill, knowledge, and
    friendship to our lives.

    73,

    Art K0AIZ
