• poor quality consumer 1.75" paper mortar

    I should've noted the brand of the 12 ball shell assortment my friend had that came with 2 spiral wound paper mortars. The CPSC allows for up to 6 shots from such a mortar, so that's the ratio that was supplied. However, after the first shot from the
    package, the mortar it was shot from began to delaminate -- enough that a piece had to be torn off to clear the tube for the next, and final, shot of the night. I offered the use of my HDPE mortar from Skylighter, but it was too tall, such that the
    leader would not project from the gun with the shot in place -- unless it be lit before the ball be dropped fully in! Meanwhile my cardboard mortars (cores from produce bag rolls) for film canister shells was too narrow for the balls.
