• WG 68 announcement

From Luciano Ward@21:1/5 to All on Tue Apr 5 18:11:10 2022
Your challenge for WG 68 is to create a hybrid animal, where the final letters of one animal overlap with the beginning letters of an another. The wordplay in your clue should lead to one of these animals; the definition should lead to the other animal.
The overlapping letters should number two or more, but should not constitute the entire name of one of the animals.

Here is, I hope, a clarifying (but not outstanding) example:

Rodent I get is rattled when facing rats, primarily

    The hybrid is TIGERBIL.
The definition is rodent = GERBIL
The wordplay is IGET anag + R(ats) = TIGER

Some other example hybrids, which you can use or not, are:

    ELEPHANTELOPE
    FISHEEP
    SALMONKEY

I repeat: the definition should lead to one of the animals and the wordplay to the other.

The deadline is the end of your day, Friday, April 15 -- which, I hope, is not too taxing.

    Up to three submissions, please.

    Thanks,

    Luciano

Please include enumeration for the entire hybrid. E.g.,

Rodent I get is rattled when facing rats, primarily (8)
