jigsawdoku

My ability to solve Killer Sudoku went from zero to hero when I learned
the 45 rule.
That rule applies to Jigsawdoku too, of course, but it's far less
useful. In fact, I have yet to find a useful equivalent for Jigsawdoku,
after several years (on and off!) of looking; in the absence of such a
rule, a Jigsawdoku puzzle remains a trial rather than a treasure.
My curiosity has finally overcome my guilt, so I'll ask: *is* there such
a rule?
