Strangely enough this has nothing to do with drones, that is a whole other FAA issue which has yet to mature. This is about two Federal agencies with different agenda, different financial direction, and different principle commercial interests the FAA,

The financial part is true enough. It's way easier for politicians to mess with a drone company than a massive telco.

Nothing to do with cellphones or users doing anything at airports.

The only area of doubt appears to be with (inadequate ?) regulation of deployment of C-Band *transmitters* in the USA. Not a problem in Europe
and many other countries it seems.

If you fully comprehended what he had to say, the issue is relates to full strength 5G interfering with C Band Radar altimeters on ILS landings at more than 80 US airports. ‘wokeness’ has nothing to do with this.
In Europe this is not an issue as 5G power around airports has been reduced to the point that the interference with ILS is a non-issue. However in the US Verizon, ATT, and the FCC have yet to even consider a work-around by limiting 5G in a 2 mile radius

Should be straightforward, with regulated limits on bandwidth of
transmissions, powers, and the chance of intermod distortions.

Maybe the aero gear isn't quite up to its job, or some 5G mobile
    gear is
    out of spec (QC) ?

Would it honestly kill these pathetic cellphone addicts to have to
    use say 4G at airports?

Nothing to do with cellphones or users doing anything at airports.

The only area of doubt appears to be with (inadequate ?) regulation of
deployment of C-Band *transmitters* in the USA. Not a problem in Europe
and many other countries it seems.

Take a look at this from Juan Brown which gives a different look at
    the problem:

Pretty much like what I was suggesting. Poor standards and/or regulation.

But his rant at the end is rather bizarre, and irrational at best.

He is a 777 pilot who flies international routes, so he feels much of this issue personally.

Scary that a 777 pilot could think that 5G interference is to to 'wokeness'.

If you fully comprehended what he had to say, the issue relates to full strength 5G interfering with C Band Radar altimeters on ILS landings at more than 80 US airports. ‘wokeness’ has nothing to do with this.

A one point he is suggesting that it (the
citing/number/proximity/demand-for *is* due to the 'woke' culture.

Perhaps valid if ‘woke’ in this context means the generational demand for 5G connectivity.

In Europe this is not an issue as 5G power around airports has been reduced to the point that the interference with ILS is a non-issue. However in the US Verizon, ATT, and the FCC have yet to even consider a work-around by limiting 5G in a 2 mile
radius of US airports. This is not an issue with 4G, but a failure of the FCC& FAA to communicate in the wake of the FCC selling available bandwidth to the carriers for billions of $$ without regard to the safety of aircraft using ILS, and the
    passengers flying in those planes.

    Yes.....

What airline (I'll try a different one) ?

You will be just fine, he flies air freight, he is also an ex US Air Force heavy lift pilot, and Forest Service air attack pilot. He has the credentials, more so than most of us in this NG.

He also has some rather odd socio-political views, to the point of unhinged.

    geoff

...and after watching this video you came to that opinion how?

He is a professional in the aviation industry who lives in rural Northern California, and who happens to produce his YouTube channel which is somewhat eclectic in its content.
