Just seems that some people are easily scammed into giving out their usernames and passwords.

Yes, it was just social engineering.

Did Apple bail out of the idea of making cars? I hope so.
You don't buy a
car expecting the manufacturer to drive it for you and own the key.

nobody outside of a small number of people within apple knows what they
are doing in the automotive space.
there are a *lot* of rumours, but no specifics and certainly no
announcements of any sort.
they've made some interesting hires and have some test vehicles, but
that only means *something* is going on.

what do you think a self-driving car is?
granted, the technology for fully autonomous vehicles is not ready yet,
but it's definitely coming.
*many* companies are working on that.
apple *probably* is also working on it, because that is the direction
the industry is going, but that is only speculation. they might just be writing the software side of things, for all anyone knows.
Likely Apple is doing something in the automotive arena.
They will
certainly have endless devotees lined up to buy in totally regardless
off what it turns out to be.

Apple auto-first-letter-and-proper-noun capilisation obviously broken.
Will be fixed in next update.
