    That most people don't know anything about anything? Better question; how large a telescope would you need to show the nearest stat, Proxima Centauri as a disk 1.5 inches wide like in the joke?

    Not sure how you'd calculate such a thing due to suns being differnt sizes and distances, but our sun is actually our nearest star NOT Proxima Centauri ;-)
