1.HELP ASAP! There is an 8 month old male Kuvasz in Pen #137 at the Austin/Travis County Animal Shelter, Town Lake, Austin Texas. They misidentified him as a Great Pyrenees mix.

Please consider that this young pup is in a very urgent situation.

CONTACT Dr. Becket Phone (512) 472-7387.

2.A 3 year old male is available in New Hampshire.

He is good with children and other animals, and I understand this dog
may be a perfect livestock guarding candidate. He has been raised
around horses and free range fowl, and is very lonely as no one lives
    at his house anymore.

His owner and husband are divorcing, she doesn't have room to keep him,
and her husband doesn't want him.

3.MISTY is a 3-1/2 year old spayed female who was dropped off at a
Rhode Island shelter. Thankfully she is in the temporary foster care of
a Kuvasz list member, but she needs a permanent home.

According to the shelter records; she has been a house dog, rides well
in cars, is protective of her people, and was a companion to older
children. She is also friendly, gentle, intelligent, likes to play, and
has had some obedience training, so she will sit, stay, come, and lay
    down.

Unfortunately she sometimes jumps up when excited, and she accidentally scratched a friend of one of the children in her original home. When
her owner's insurance company found out about the incident, they
threatened to cancel the household insurance policy if Misty remained.

Since this is technically a shelter situation, there is still some
    urgency.

Please seriously consider adopting this very nice Kuvasz. You can view pictures at http://www.magma.ca/~kuvasz/kuvaszrescuenotice.htm

    4. KISMET (11/16/94) is neutered and currently resides in East Hampton,
    MA.

His owner describes him as a very good, quite active dog, who loves
people, and likes loving attention himself. He has learned the
commands; sit, stay, up, down, off, wait, come, slow, is crate trained,
and has lived both inside the house and in the yard. He is in good
health and his vaccinations are up to date.

Kismet's owner just recently married, and unfortunately her husband does
not like the dog. While she is very attached to Kismet, she realizes
this uncomfortable situation is stressful for him, and not good for her marriage.

    5. In New Jersey there is a Kuvasz looking for a home due to very sad circumstances. A woman purchased the dog for her severely depressed
niece. The niece loved the dog but she died. Now the aunt has the dog,
the niece's daughter, no funds, and needs to move in with her father who doesn't like animals. The aunt loves the dog deeply, but has to find
him a new home because of her circumstances.

    6. CODY is a 5 year old spayed female. Her vaccinations are currently up
to date, and her owner can turn over all medical records to Cody's new family. She takes some medication to resolve minor incontinence.

Her owner describes Cody as "beautiful, playful, extremely loyal and
very smart." She has been to obedience class, and learned to sit, down, stay, come, wait, and heel beautifully on leash. She is very playful
and loves to take long walks.

Cody has no experience with cats, gets along with other dogs, but occasionally has a need to establish dominance. She has lived indoors
and has been contained outdoors with an invisible fence.

Cody's owner has had a lifestyle change, is moving, and finds it "too difficult to have this kind of dog and responsibilities."

She needs a confident and experienced Kuvasz/type dog owner, to moderate
her suspiciousness of strangers, and occasional over protectiveness.

    7. Unfortunately a family near Penn State University made a poor choice
for their particular family situation when they adopted a Kuvasz.

Their 2 year old spayed female is up to date with all shots, has had no medical conditions to date, and has been absolutely healthy her entire
puppy hood. She is protective of her family and property, but longs for attention in a good loving home with owners willing to take the time
to care for and love her as she should be.
