As they depart the community kitchen and gathering area, 2 and 4 foots
smile at the movie night, some staying to put away the screens and help
the Elder get back with her rocking chair. Those who need to be back
early to cook breakfast depart.

Younglings stay for a bit and do the communal dishes. They make light
work of it. The Bamboo master sticks around, pretending to prevent
mayhem (and maybe he does) but really, he just likes to watch them make
play with a simple needed chore of the village.

As they finish, a young Kittah, older than most and ready to apprentice
comes up with a small bamboo flute.

'Hello Master, my name is Thanh. Do you think I can learn Bamboo?'

He looks. She is a cloud of soft orange and white with dark orange
whiskers offsetting a perfect pink nose. Her name means 'A young
voice'. He has heard her sing and she shows promise. As she hands
over her selfmade flute of bamboo, she explains she didn't know how to
get all the holes 'just right' but most of them are. He finds it looks
very well made for an apprentice and tries it. She winces at a few of
the notes but he can barely tell anything is off. Musing, she must
have a perfect ear too.

'Yes Thanh, I will be graced to teach you. I will also talk to my
sister 4 villages away who makes instruments for the bardic school as I
believe your final calling lays at one or the other.'

She beams a lovely smile and scampers off being assured they will start
after the Ball.

Night settles as they close up, banking any fires for the morning.
