What other ways are any of you using to access the group?

I use giganews (2.49 a month for life when cox pulled newsgroups out).
Eternal September is free. Avoid aioe at all costs. It's so much a
spammer, most refuse to give them access so messages are hit or miss.

You'll need a newsreader no matter what. xananews is free with no nag
screens or ads. Plug in your account data (fake email if choose) and
newsgroup server and password, and it runs out of the box. You can
fancy it with colored replies later. Best to not pull out your hair
over Thunderbird (also free). It's considerably more complex to get
    running right.

If you need help with xananews (not likely), I can walk you through of
with it if you get stuck or with email, can send screen shots.

Word has it GG had a plan to drive the spammers away but it didn't work
so they are pulling the plug.

Oh, for a free feed. Eternal September is a decent one. Need help with

Sandy, if all you use Google Groups for is text-based Usenet, then
Eternal September might work for you. Do your own research and make
    your own best decision.
