Please pardon the intrusion of a tribute from a hoomin. Martha was a
senior kitty in the care of Kansas City Pet Project. She was a favorite
of everybody in the cat adoption area. She was incredibly sweet, loved
to be petted, and her favorite activity was to be released from her
kennel to wander around the entire adoption area and visit with
everybody she found.
She had lived a difficult life - declawed front and back, and was undernourished and diabetic. But she was still enjoying her life for the
months she was with at the shelter.
One afternoon when the staff were doing feeding shift, they found Martha unresponsive in her kennel. The vet staff worked hard to revive her, but
the efforts failed. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge that day.
We will all miss you, lovely Martha.
