Luko packs maps. He suggests checking Vila Bela Da Santissima
    Trinidade.

It has plenty of waterways, a sleepy town of bored humans and a hotel
that is empty called Pousada Paco Das Oncas, A remote lodge with
fishing, wildlife, waterfalls and a resident friendly Jaguar.

Well, wez packed all sorts of treats like dried crunchy shrimps, rice
balls with pork filling (Gentle Jack licks his lips and grins), smoked
salmon strips, kibbles, anna a new bone for Jack! (Jack shyly grins).

Daddy2foot comes and Jack escorts him to bed while Meowmie yawns.
Gotta take Meowmie to bed says Luko. Ready tomorrow!

Sammy Redcat picks up Luko and Jack and heads off. Sammy has a
portable Cataporter to place at the Vila if it seems a good place.

As they land, a fellow is fishing off a rock pier. He looks over his
shoulder and grins. 'El Gatos eh?'

let us show you to the Lodge. It is not big, but we are empty now of
all but the owner and his wife, me and my wife who is the cook.

As they walk the short bit they see a small dining area (enclosed) and
some simple conjoined cabins. They have hammocks at the front. There
are a few solar panels about but electric is mainly lights at night
obviously. AC not required as is 72-79F all the time in Pantagal.

As they walk about, they see pictures of a Jaguar. The labels say
Zorian. which is 'happy' in the local language.

Welcome, all. I am Zorian, and I will be your guide to the local
    sights.

Let us go to our Cook to get your desires, then while she is making it
all, we can get you settled in rooms!

Ms. Rosarita comes out donning her apron, smiling as guests to brighten
her day arrive. Her eyes sparkle at Milletoes and Pretty Flower. 'I
have just the thing for you and Zorian, tell my husband Western room
and ask him to add the dare grey curtins to it under the sunny yellow?
That way they can slide what set they like in place. Greetings she
says to Pepe and Gigi, I have some honey and berries for you and we
have some very nice big grasshoopers as well as plenty of eggs! I will
ask my Gato Luis to catch you an extra rat too if that suits?

For Jocko. Big Mama, and the rest she asks if a big fish dinner with
eggs in cream seem right? Oh Zorian? Perfect night for a leg of that
Deer you brought back! I have it only partly butchered just now but
that part is just waiting for the pit fire to get hot. Biju and Tiju
have agreed to turn the spit for us (2 Capabaras nod, they look
identical and like big guinea pigs sort of).

As folks settle, they get their rooms. Various touches are added like
Milltoes and Pretty Flower get a nice memory foam under the bed and the
bed has a coverlet that comes to the floor, making a sort of den they
can open and close. Pillows move down so they can arrange at will. In
gato rooms, they are asked if they want the matress on the floor or
desire to jump up, and shifts are made. Windowsill cat perches are
attached with rug ramps to watch the outside if desired. Pepe espeially
likes this and a double is added for Gigi.

It seems folks decided without need to discuss. This is a nice calm
place to have the ball. The last touch is the proprieters add thin
comfortable covers to the hammocks outside the rooms, explaining gatos
and other 4foots find that better so they do not drop a limb in the
holes of the rope hammock weave.

A short siesta ensues as meals are finished cooking. Luko whispers to
the owner who nods and set the Eastroom aside for the Grande Poobah,
    Pit2na.

The owner will help you all get settled and our cook is making a meal

After that, may I suggest a little romp and friendly pounce game? It's
one the kiddies and felines here play in a mock hunt. We play for the
catnip which one person has. Before you think it is easy, The owner
passes it unseen from kittah to kittah and it's frozen in a block of
ice so can't sniff it! Evenually the ice melts and we find it.

[Sammy approaches Zorian during a quiet moment]

Zorian, thank you for showing us around and for being so helpful. I
    really apurrciate it.

I know that this part of Brazil has been occupied for a very long time, including in the past by tribes who aren't around any more. Do you know
of any ruins or inneresting sites we could get to, where we might be
able to do some of the Jellicle Ball activities? THat is, if we could do
    so wifout being disrespectful?

    [Zorian considers for a bit]

Well, Senhor Sam, there was a village a couple miles from here, in the
jungle. The village is mostly gone, but there is a temple there that is
still partly intact. It's furry fascinating, as it is decorated with
artwork showing all sort of animals - including animals that have never
existed in this part of the world! It might be a good place for your Ball.

Sammy: Do you know if there is a teleporter beacon there? Im getting old
enough that I don't think I could manage to walk a couple miles, even on
    level ground.

Zorian: Not an issue! I have a perfect solution for you!

[Zorian lets loose with a loud whistle. A couple minutes later Biju and
Tiju, the capybaras, approach bearing a platform between them. It looks
similar to an old-fashioned sedan chair, but it is kitty-sized and
    carried by the capybaras.]

Sammy: Oh, thank you for the offer, but I couldn't ask that!

Biju: Senhor cat, this is one of the services we offer to guests of the
lodge. We are the only lodge in this province to offer such a service!
Please, allow us to escort you to the unique sights in our area.

Biju: Senhor cat, this is one of the services we offer to guests of the lodge. We are the only lodge in this province to offer such a service! Please, allow us to escort you to the unique sights in our area.

[Zorian sets off towards the jungle, Luko and Jack right behind. Biju
and Tiju follow close behind, with Sammy riding on the cushioned
platform between them. Ranger walks alongside the capybaras, studying
the jungle. The jungle itself is dark due to the heavy leafy canopy
overhead, but with enough openings to allow enough sunlight to allow low
    bushes and vines to grow.

As they trek through the Jungle, Sammy spots large stones that appear to
have been shaped by human hands some time in the distant past. After a
fairly short trip, the group stops and the capybaras lower Sammy's
platform to the ground. Before the explorers is what initially appears
to be a hill, but on closer examination is actually a building made of
huge blocks of stone. If the greenery covering the walls is brushed out
of the way, it is easy to see colorful artwork illustrating many
animals. As Sammy bubs his paw over an image of a jaguar, he realizes
that the pictures are engraved into the stone as well as being painted.
As the kitties spread out to look around, occasional surprised meows
ring out. "Look, here's painting of an elephant! They never had
    elephants here, did they?", "There's a camel here!", "Here's a walrus!" ]

Sammy: Zorian, thank yo for leading us here! This is fantastic! I never
would have expected to find this temple, let alone all that artwork. I
wonder how the ancient people knew about these animals?

Zorian: I know, isn't it exciting? BUt there is better yet to come!
    Follow me.

[ Zorian leads the way to a gap in the vegetation growing over the
building. It is actually the mouth of a tunnel, just large enough to
allow a large jaguar to pass comfortably. A few feet in, they come to a doorway. Zorian stops to take a torch from a sconce just inside the
door, and grabs a piece of flint resting nearby. He scrapes the flint
down the rock wall, allowing sparks to fall on the torch, and the torch ignites. ]

Everybody, come this way please. As you enter please grab a torch and
light it off of mine. I'd like to show you around.

This is sort of an antechamber. We're not exactly sure what it was for,
aside from storing torches. But the next chamber is beautiful!

[Zorian leads them a little deeper into the chamber. The next room they
enter is huge. The room stretches clear to the ceiling, with no floors
above. There is a large pile of loose stones on the floor in the middle
of the room, where the roof has partially collapsed. A tree apparently
took root some time years ago and thrived in it's new home, as a huge
tree is growing from the fallen rocks, up through the hole in the roof.
The canopy of the tree spreads broadly over the building, completely
shielding the hole in the roof.

Kitties stare in wonder, then wander off to explore more. A few minutes
later Ranger meows loudly from an adjacent room.]

Ranger: Everybody come look at dis!

[Everybody joins Ranger in the adjacent room. Ranger points to the
    paintings on the wall.]

Look - painting of kitties. But they have wings! An dere's a jaguar wif
wings, and a capybara wif wings. What does dis mean? How come all da
critters in da paintings have wings?

initially appears to be a hill, but on closer examination is actually
a building made of huge blocks of stone. If the greenery covering the
walls is brushed out of the way, it is easy to see colorful artwork illustrating many animals. As Sammy bubs his paw over an image of a
jaguar, he realizes that the pictures are engraved into the stone as
well as being painted. As the kitties spread out to look around,
occasional surprised meows ring out. "Look, here's painting of an
elephant! They never had elephants here, did they?", "There's a camel
    here!", "Here's a walrus!" ]

Sammy: Zorian, thank yo for leading us here! This is fantastic! I
never would have expected to find this temple, let alone all that
artwork. I wonder how the ancient people knew about these animals?

Zorian: I know, isn't it exciting? BUt there is better yet to come!
    Follow me.

[ Zorian leads the way to a gap in the vegetation growing over the
building. It is actually the mouth of a tunnel, just large enough to
allow a large jaguar to pass comfortably. A few feet in, they come to
a doorway. Zorian stops to take a torch from a sconce just inside the
door, and grabs a piece of flint resting nearby. He scrapes the flint
down the rock wall, allowing sparks to fall on the torch, and the
    torch ignites. ]

Everybody, come this way please. As you enter please grab a torch and
light it off of mine. I'd like to show you around.

This is sort of an antechamber. We're not exactly sure what it was
for, aside from storing torches. But the next chamber is beautiful!

[Zorian leads them a little deeper into the chamber. The next room
they enter is huge. The room stretches clear to the ceiling, with no
floors above. There is a large pile of loose stones on the floor in
the middle of the room, where the roof has partially collapsed. A
tree apparently took root some time years ago and thrived in it's new
home, as a huge tree is growing from the fallen rocks, up through the
hole in the roof. The canopy of the tree spreads broadly over the
building, completely shielding the hole in the roof.

Kitties stare in wonder, then wander off to explore more. A few
minutes later Ranger meows loudly from an adjacent room.]

Ranger: Everybody come look at dis!

[Everybody joins Ranger in the adjacent room. Ranger points to the
    paintings on the wall.]

Look - painting of kitties. But they have wings! An dere's a jaguar
wif wings, and a capybara wif wings. What does dis mean? How come all
da critters in da paintings have wings?

Zorian answers: We think it was in reference to a good spirit. See in
the corner? A winged Doggie too. (The Doggie is a Saluki).

Jack's ears perk up and he grins.

    Senhor Zorian, if I may?

    [Zorian nods to her]

Senhor Ranger, de animals in de artwork in dis room are messengers
between the humans and animals of dis world, and Deavoavai, da Lord of
de Animals. De animals wif wings carry messages from us on dis world to Deavoavai. Deavoavai den relays our messages when necessary or

So yes, Senhor Zorian, dey are indeed good spirits.

Guys, I wonder - how about we use da lodge as our headquarters, and a
place to rest up before tomorrow, and get plenty of the great food they
are fixing, but then maybe hold the actual Jellicle Ball here in the old temple? Even with the damage to the roof it looks safe and comfortable,
and we could all be together in one room with plenty of space.

Mebbe Biju and Tiju could help up make sure we don't do anyfing
disrespectful to the ancients, an we could all enjoy all da ancient artwork.

Luko, Jack, Zorian, what do you fink about that?

Luko and all agree. It will be a fine place! Look, there's even an

Tell me, do you have a band and choir to assist with the music and

Tiju nods enthusiastically and says they know the song, It is a local

It's one the kiddies and felines here play in a mock hunt. We play

Zorian leads a group of kitties and others to a nearby field. Each one
is outfitted with a small jacket with pockets. Listening intently they
learn the simple rules. Claws must be sheathed at all times and no

Pounce! It's a 3 Kittah pile up on Biju and while no one seems

with no fuss, gives a credible pounce, gaining the cube. Sammy turns
