"Deadly 'bomb cyclone' storm slams California, toppling trees and causing blackouts"

"The storm came in much stronger than expected, particularly in the southern half of the San Francisco Bay and Monterey Bay areas, UCLA climate scientist Daniel Swain said in a briefing Tuesday. He said the system had reached the benchmark for a
phenomenon known as bombogenesis, or a "bomb cyclone," which indicates a rapid drop in pressure.

Unlike an earlier bomb cyclone this winter — which occurred about 1,000 miles southwest of San Francisco — "this is very close to the coast," Swain said. "So the impacts are actually more immediate and greater than they were back then.""

Pretty soon Lampoon will probably be wishing that he had at least bought a surfboard.

Lampoon is struggling with more than just a 100 year storm in his life now... A medicine I took destroyed my pancreas, rendering me into an overnight diabetic, landing me in the hospital for 4 days! Before that, the propane truck tried to back out,
our long muddy driveway, turning it into morass, with three mired rigs blocking the entrance! They are now free! Getting in, & out, is a constant nightmare!
Between my medical crisis, and storm worries, this has been the most stressful time in my life! If I don't survive these disasters, I wish everyone well... RORT has brought me a lot of amusement for 20 years of cyber-intercourse...

Hopefully, the storm has passed? Cold nights will freeze the swamp, and things will dry out, so beauty can return to Commiefornia... Of course, I'll learn to be a successful overnight diabetic? Funny, but it spite of it all, I still feel lucky?
It could have 100X worse! HawHawHaw!

Whoa dude. That sounds like a lot of no fun, and you could still be washed into the sea, or worse. I know what you mean about feeling lucky. I figure every day on this side of the grass is a good day, no matter what goes wrong.
