They're throwing around a lot of big numbers here, but I still can't get them to add up. At the current costs I think it would probably be cheaper to send these people on a cruise. For what it costs the government we can't even afford to give
everyone a tent space. They can't start issuing citations and driving the campers out of other spaces until they can provide everyone with a space. The city government in Portland is carefully not saying this out loud.

stations, and $3 million for start-up and eight months of operating costs."
That works out to $32,000 per person to live in tents for 8 months. The way these things are written the government usually pays for the 24 hour food and other supplies on top of that.
