I guess CC&P missed this one when posting Portland trivia. Of course this doesn’t fit his leftist news agenda. He may change his tune when what’s left of his $8.7 mil runs out.

I mostly tune in to things that are amazing or amusing. As crime
in major cities goes Portland is very average. There are many major
    cities with worse crime problems.

Because you read the Portland news looking for troll material you
are likely to get some of it in you feed. What you found is a very small
part of a much bigger story. Columbia Sportswear made a much bigger
splash when they left downtown for the suburbs. Their location in the
heart of the business district had been an expensive publicity stunt for
a long time. Moving out of downtown did not affect their business one
way or the other. They turned a logical business decision into a
political statement. Right now Salt and Straw is making a bigger splash.

"'I drove to City Hall in tears': Salt & Straw considers moving its headquarters out-of-state due to crime

The CEO of Salt & Straw said she's been asking city leaders for years to address the crime, trash and danger in their Central Eastside neighborhood."

    https://www.kgw.com/article/news/local/salt-straw-considers-moving-headquarters-out-of-state-crime/283-a8941cc8-3d93-4f7b-95e2-cb67d710c28e

Businesses open and close all of the time. Even in Portland. I
note that the business you're interested in has not gone out of
business. They just closed their physical location. Columbia Sportswear
is still in business, even though fashion has changed a lot since their
heyday. Salt and Straw isn't closing any of their stores at this point.
The CEO wants to move to another state because the grass is always
greener somewhere else. For every store that closed in Portland lately
there are hundreds more hanging in there and turning a profit. Where I
live new retail space is filling just about as fast as they can build
it. We have a shiny new Tesla showroom in what used to be a Toys r Us.
We have a fancy new titty bar in a remodeled retail space. The mall down
the street is still very alive. Life goes on as usual and the population
    keeps growing.

As usual you're reading a lot that I did not say and telling us
what your point was as you go along, instead of starting with that. I am
    not a mind reader.

Crime happens. It's part of life wherever you go. That and
homelessness have become big topics here, as I'm sure they are in many
other places. People are working on our big city problems. The biggest
problem is that it's going to take time and money and we will not solve
all of the problems. Just about anywhere, any time, someone who leaves expensive inventory unprotected is likely to experience problems.

I keep saying the same thing over and over and you still can't
figure it out. I am NOT particularly interested in substance. If I was I wouldn't be posting about it here. I AM HERE FOR MY OWN AMAZEMENT AND AMUSEMENT. From my point of view your opinions are simply amusing and
    sometimes amusingly amazing.

It's lovely cold wet weather here. So we're headed to the BG Food
Cartel for dinner. It's a collection of food carts with a bar that
offers some protection from the weather and even some indoor space if
you need it. Instead of darts they have ax throwing. Hey, what can I
say, this is Oregon. My wife tends to favor the Mexican food. She can
get some real authentic stuff there. I tend toward the Middle Eastern
food, prepared by people who grew up eating the stuff. You can get all
sorts of food there, including fancy macaroni and cheese. We usually
meet in the middle. Food carts tend to come and go as well. They are on
wheels after all. They have a pretty stable collection there and they
haven't had an empty spot in a long time.

Having done some highly competitive ax throwing during my time, I'm surprised by ax throwing's rise in public awareness? It has indeed became a trend, or fad, for entertainment... San Luis, has an ax throwing range, that always seems to be well
occupied, and I've seen others on FB.... People are on a constant search to amuse themselves... Too bad no prizes are there to be won... HawHawHaw!

story and he/she frequently changes their name.

I don't need the imported versions of the Eastern European foods
so I seldom get into those markets. The ones I have been in are nothing
    like what you describe.

That reminds me. Since our jive ass troll is so interested in the businesses here I should have mentioned that we also have a new Trader
Joe's in my neighborhood and a new Planet Fitness. We had an Albertson's
store until Safeway and Albertson's merged. That was one of the stores
they were forced to sell. The small grocery chain that bought some of
those stores for next to nothing eventually had to sell most of them to
stay solvent. It has become successful part of a chain of Asian markets.
I shop their pretty regularly. There are several big new apartment
buildings over by our Walmart. I think they had signed leases for all of
the retail spaces on the ground floor before they leased out any of the apartments. The apartments are still mostly empty, but the businesses
look like they're busy. I could go on, but I hope you get the idea.

If you haven't seen my rant about trolls before it's very simple.
Almost 100% of the people who post here are trolls at least part of the
time, if not all of the time. I don't exclude myself from this
assessment. It's so common that most folks don't figure it's a big deal anymore.

From my point of view age "appropriate" make-up and attire are
silly ideas. People should do what they enjoy. If you don't like it--Oh
    well.

You are correct. I knew I should have given that one an IIRC. The Landfill Troll objected to that name because it had been given to him by
LZ, and he was beating LZ, logically speaking. So I avoid that one. At
this point calling anyone a troll is pretty redundant.

I just got back from the local Eastern European grocery,

In comparison, have now determined that the one closer to me is

Â Â Â Â  Junkyard is that you again? We get so few new
people here that I automatically figure that most of them are
another version of a long running "troll" who was once known as
the Junkyard Troll. It's a long story and he/she frequently
    changes their name.

I thought it was the Landfill Troll? Maybe that was a different one.

At the end of the day going forward, I allege that it's uniquely
possible that they are literally new persons to this venue, and that
    y'all's calculus is inefficacious.

Your alleger is broken - yet again. I merely disputed the name TB wrote.

Look, like, so you're sure they are, like, literally the Landfill
    Troll in this context?

Your look liker unit is also in serious need of repair - yet again.
Where did I, like look allegedly, say that?

No one said that. I asked about it. At most I'm alleging the
possibility without reaching any conclusions. I was wrong about marika
being new here. I did a little checking and found her trolling here back
    in 2005 and 2008.

So now you're sure they're a her and not a he/she? Or maybe they were

Or maybe it's the other way around? There's so much spaghetti flying

And according to Google, they might even have been around since '03 -

The significance of the passage of time really is literally significant?

Disclaimer:? Until someone jumps up on the table to get to the root of
