• You don't need a red state takeover to take out the damn trash

I think that slogan helped our presumptive new governor--a lot. The homeless problem was probably the biggest issue for all of the
candidates. As you would expect the Republican was in favor of returning
to expensive solutions that hadn't solved the problem in the past. But,
kicking the bums around has always been a popular solution, until the
courts stepped in. The only places the candidates differed substantially
were abortion and gun control. The Democrat pounded hard on abortion and
MAGA. The Republican didn't seem very MAGA to me. She's more of what you
would expect from a traditional Republican. You know. One of those damn
    RINOs. LOL

I have been saying for a long time that Oregon isn't nearly as
liberal as the people who don't live here think. I have the charts and
graphs to prove it. Long story short: Our new governor is only winning
in 7 of our 36 counties. The rest of the state is a vast sea of red. The retrumplicans should enjoy this map.

It's a similar story when you look at the close ballot measures.
The map sifts a little, but they are only passing in 7 counties. That
would be the measures for a ridiculous level of gun paperwork and a constitutional mandate that everyone should have access to healthcare.
It just mandates access. It doesn't say who should pay for it.

2 more counties voted that they would like to become part of Idaho.
It would be nice if they could. When you look at where the money comes
from and where it goes those same, maybe 8 or 9 heavily Democrat
counties, subsidize the rest of the state.

Right here at home I'm in a new congressional district because of
our population growth. It was expected to be a competitive district, and
it is. It could still go either way, but the Democrat is leading by a
very small margin. There must be one or two real conservatives around me
    here somewhere.

OH yeah, the not very independent candidate got less than 9% of the
vote. Her ads claimed that the entire state was some sort of disaster
zone. I don't think she has any idea how shrill and ridiculous she
sounded. If you think everything is in a crisis she would be your candidate.
